Toby Alderweireld

We should fcuk them about and ask for Martial, then sell him abroad anyway.

I think we should start unsettling their players as much as we can. We know they do it all the time

I’m sure it will be city’s tactic this summer too. I fully expect them to play silly for salad just to wind pool up

Big fan of how Walker handled his move.
No daft tweets, just I'm off to new job. No flannel no fuss.
I like Kyle.
Toby is off, so long live Davinson!
Are you suggesting that Toby has posted daft tweets? Maybe I’ve missed some, but they all seem pro Spurs and being a member of the squad?

Exactly!
Why tweet?
Or maybe his posting hasn’t changed at all since before the contract negotiations started and he genuinely feels part of the squad and all this unrest is just paper and internet talk?

I’d rather all our players were off social media but that’s never going to happen so someone posting exactly the same stuff he always does can’t be seen as anything other than, well, normal?!

Real shame he's going considering how good he's been in the last couple years. That said, if we spend the £40m - £50m which we get for him on someone as good as Sanchez and sub 23 years old then it wont be a disaster.

My main hope now is that it doesnt become unsettling and, for example, it to have an influence on others wanting to leave

I do not think that it is a question of the offer being too tempting for Levy, I think that the manager has decided that he is surplus to requirements and that we should case in whilst we can still get good money for him and reinvest the proceeds in improving the team.

agree with that.

have I missed something?

have I missed something?

It would seem pretty clear that there's some form of rift between him and the manager - none of us obviously know the truth but he's been back from injury for a while, played twice for his country in the week but then doesnt make the bench today. This is someone who was one of our best players last year and a leader on the pitch....just doesnt seem plausible that someone who has been such a key player is left out for footballing reasons. Whether he's not giving 100% in training, or Poch thinks he's distracted because of the contract situation...who knows precisely what the truth is but I dont buy that we wouldnt have had him in the 18 today had there not been something in the background

yeah must be a rift because even rose is in the squad now.

Guess we’ve already got our Toby replacement. Diers long pass to Dele was something Toby used to do a lot with Dele a season or so back....
