Toby Alderweireld

Why does it have to be his PR team? Can he not tweet without their assistance? He's been injured, could just well of been bored hence the increased number of posts....

Because you can't take your own photo from 20 yards away

Social media is very tightly controlled by clubs. Same with pretty much everyone in the public eye - music, film, politics. Its all done by PR agencies. I once talked to someone from a fairly also-ran band about it, and he said its also too exhausting to have to do it yourself at the level needed to get any sort of engagement, you just have to outsource it

Im not talking about this most recent photo, Im talking about in general. Hes been out injured, so more time on his hands to post on social media. Sometimes people overanalyse the simplest of things...

based on the transfer policy under enic, I'd say the chances are quite high

We tend to sign younger players who have the potential to become better players and superior to the players they have replaced. That's different to signing a ready-made replacement who is already better than what we have.

we don't need ready made, we just need to keep moving forward, it's not about individuals, its about the whole squad

If only he was just walking. Look at his aura!

Not saying youre wrong Jurgen, just got me thinking - Who have we signed who has become superior to who we previously had in that position in recent years? Id start with Son, for someone like Chadli (who I actually liked)....

That's a stretch IMO. Dier for example hasn't turned into Ledley King whilst playing under Poch.

thats because he's mainly played in midfield, we've turned him into Tom Huddlestone ;)

as good as Toby has been, part of it is the coaching and the system, there is a reason we signed him so easily when we did, he's done as well out of it as we have

Well yes that's sort of correct but the chances of us signing a CB who is better than Toby NOW at a low cost are quite slim IMO.

The cost is more to do with length of contract. After all Toby could go next year for £25m, one of the best CB in the league.
Look at Wanyama against Sissoko for instance.
