Thomas Frank - Head Coach

Strange how when he mentions getting the best out of the experienced players he never mentioned Son.

I hope the club can put in place some protections on Frank. Let other people in his team do some of the media business for him. Take away some of the pressure that will ratchet up.

Even now expectations are sky high. Steady steps forward. We’re starting on the 17th rung…

Part and parcel of the job. You're never going to win with the rags - club "put protections" in by getting others to do the media and he's "running scared". Best way of dealing with the media is get out there in front of them and win games. Fergie and Mourinho both loved the media and using the media. Look at how Fergie engineered the famous Keegan meltdown - but winning games is key to keeping the pressure from building and not being knarky or a smart a** either.....

Thought he spoke very well at his unveiling (one for football cliches fans)

Not going to read into the significance of what players he did and didn’t mention. Whoever is at the club come the opening fixture I have faith he will make it work. Seems to me he very much adapts to get the best out of who he has at his disposal

Erm…I think you’ll find he cleverly sent his assistant manager to a lot of post game press conferences, especially when pressured.

It works both ways.

A big club ensures its manager has ample protection with a bullish press officer and why not have others standup in front of the media from time to time?

Yeah, very good interview and would expect nothing different. Classic honeymoon period stuff I guess. I'm reasonably confident he's going to be great for us, but obviously you don't know any manager intimately until they become your manager.

As a side note, did nobody tell TF he wasn't allowed to mention he who cannot be spoken about on this thread? I noticed he accidentally slipped his name in a couple of times :)

HE is allowed! It is HIS thread 😉

I liked the line "Risk is you need to play forward" , is that the end of sideways passing out from back.
Also noticeable over the past week or so is how much Vinai is involved the running of the club , seems to have come in to take a leading role.

Ah the good old honeymoon period of the manager thread - everything he says and does is great, undefeated record, good times....
