The transfer thread

They aren't first choice players?

The point re Odobert was that he was chosen ahead of Werner & Richarlson to deputise for Son - your post i was replying to said he was likely planned to be behind both which clearly was not the case.

I'd sday Richarlison was seen as our back-up CF. I'd say Werner was our 'keep him around for 4 mill no fee' punt option. I'd say there was high hope Odobert could come through and be 'the man' but no direct, conclusive belief beyond promise (which in fairness is where we're generally at).

Probably cost us in the first half of the season. They weren't (seen as) ready for much PL involvement. As they've settled in and gotten more game time I think they've shown themselves to be useful squad players. If they keep developing and increasing their impact this season without having to be trusted to start most games perhaps even more useful. For better and worse, like most things.

I just feel the rotation argument is a bit flat. The young players were getting plenty of minutes in Europa. And growing because of it.

He wasn't great.
I think it was Leicester, we were 3-2 up I think. I needed a tinkle so left my seat at the north stand and went for a tinkle, came back and the score was 4-3 to them.

Ginger Pele gave a dodgy back pass to Kasey Keller, they scored, and then he scored an own goal earlier In the game I believe.

I was like what the fudge happened. My bros said Ginger Pele happened.

Edit just rewatched the game and I think it was a brick because there was 5 minutes between ben thatchers equaliser and Gary Doherty's brain fart

3 ex spurs players playing! Ferdinand, Walker and Thatcher!

Oh he was
People dont remember him before the leg break and he was one of the very best young players in the country
I played against him and he murdered us and we were a few years up with lads on top clubs books (7 players IIRC)
At Luton he was very good and Pleat knew how good he was. That keg break was bad. I heard the crack in the ground

As a CB or CF?

Oh, I wasn't making a rotation argument as in they should have been rotated in more in the league earlier. I like how they were integrated.

I was comparing signing them to potentially signing more established players instead. I think that could have had a positive effect at first, maybe even still. But over time the positive effect of signing these younger players could be much greater. Essentially I think we fully agree.
