The transfer thread

It depemds on how long you're talking about the media talking about a move, because every transfer we've made in the last few years has been covered by the press before the official announcement or even the medicals have taken place. So I dunno, if you're saying months and months of pre speculation then sure but almost all moves are discussed in the press before they are actually officially done.
Almost all transfers these days are covered by media before they're announced.

Quite a few have seemingly been quite far along, close to done even before any real info have appeared in media.

Not necessarily months and months, but there's a difference there compared to earlier imo. Less solid information before the deal is quite far along. Before there were more leaks imo.

All gone a bit quiet hasn't it. Do you think anything will still happen while the Euros are going on?
The transfer window only opened today. I think you’ll see activity pick up a bit as teams try to balance their dodgy FFP books by the 30th June accounting deadline

I can't believe any players involved in the Euros will be moving until they are eliminated, discussion or offers may have been made but I'm sure international managers will not allow players to get involved with the sideshow.

I wonder if some buying clubs will also (on the flip side) need to wait until the 1st July to spend anything?
Yeah absolutely. Unlike us, most clubs will operate right up to the FFP (or PSR) limit for the accounting year so they’re just waiting for the refresh to start spending again. I’m hoping that because we have some slack we can take advantage of forced sellers before 30th deadline

Unless someone leaves/sold or they increase their revenue. They'll still be at the limit come july 1st. Amortisation and wages last the length of a players contract. It will be a new year in the 3 year cycle though. So if they made big loses 3 years (or 4 as covid meant 2 years were counted as one) ago but have made cuts since then they might have room to maneuver.

Be honest i know little about him. Heard his name mentioned a couple of times that's about it.
Very dribble winger type
Plays on the right
Used to be at Madrid
Very left footed and comes in off it
Dont think I’ve ever seen him be a byline hugger

Well no major outlets are reporting it and nothing from romano. Will not get too worked up about this yet.

For the benefit of Bentancur, that's not Sonny.
