From what I understand, he doesn't have a significant shortage of staff.
Therefore they can't possibly be underpaid.

There is considerable staff churn at Amazon. Also, it's not just about pay. Work conditions there are 3rd world standard.
Again, he has no problem employing people - therefore conditions and pay must be good enough.

I'm suggesting that your comment is ridiculous. And the fact is that some actually don't have a choice, although I'm sure you will deny it.
How about you take one of those jobs. Let's see how long you last!
Of course I wouldn't take one of those jobs, I have an education and some fairly rare skills.
If the conditions or pay were not good enough, those people would be working elsewhere and pay/conditions would have to improve until staff numbers increased.
