This little movie is pretty amazing. Astronauts recounting how they experienced seeing planet earth from space, and how they all experienced what has been dubbed "the overview-effect".

I'm voting for a technocracy consisting solely of people who have experienced the overview-effect.

I have experienced the overview effect after taking far too much ketamine one evening.. I was hovering above myself and my group of friends, observing it from above, I could see myself externally.. It was really quite sobering, made me feel very insignificant.

I imagine it being a bit like, hmm, what to say, becoming a parent for the first time, or something like that. It's something so mind blowing you can't really imagine it before you experience it. That's the impression I get from watching the movie, at least.
