James McCarthy is the future of their midfield. But he wasn't gonna get a place ahead of Trap's trusted pair of Whelan and Andrews, so he ruled himself out after his father was diagnosed with Cancer. Birmingham Keith Fahey and Gibson were Trap's 2nd choices. Fahey had to go home injured and now Paul Green (Derby County) has been called up.

In other words, if we can avoid getting tonked 7-0 in our first two games, we have a chance!
