The Official 2024/25 Premier League Thread

Coaching now isn't about nurturing the individuality of players. It's about making them all do the same thing, ball mastery which in theory is good but the way it's implemented in reality is that every child is groomed into some tricky winger then as they get older get put in different positions as they become not as good as another child.

Add to this there is no football culture outside of professional coaching anymore, kids over the park is a thing of the past, and not just in England. I'm in Argentina at the moment and there's no kids playing on the streets here either. That's where the mavericks are born, in the playgrounds.

Someone like Pirlo would struggle to get through the system as it exists now as they simply wouldn't display enough of the metrics coaches are told to look for.

These is fueled by the heavily weighted system approach at the top level where it's all about slotting in.
Where do you get this from?

No its not.

Hate to say this but if Arsenal had have had the same minimal injuries as Liverpool they would have won the league this year
Part of the game though, Maybe if City didn't have injuries at the beginning then they would have gotten off to a better start and not fell away. Maybe if Us, Bournemouth, Wolves, Saudi Sportswashing Machine etc didn't have injuries we would have taken more points off Arsenal too..

I am a bit worried with the calibre of players they are linked to this summer though.. next year "might be their year" lol

Especially if they win the CL

There is a fella who worked at Chelseas academy who talks about overcoaching and the box theory where players are given instructions as per the box on the pitch which they have to occupy at certain times, talks about overloading of information which leads to a lack of individuality in the game which is something I think is clearly evident in the game.

I am not sure if all are coached to be the same, but its clear that most teams now are set up in the exact same way give or take, I could watch 4 matches a weekend and not really see any glaring difference between the way each side plays.

On the highlighted, there are also not as many players of his quality in the game now and when you think of the players of real quality that played at the same time as Pirlo.......man alive is it like chalk and cheese to today.
