The Official 2022/23 Premier League Thread

I'm officially starting the 'Brennan Johnson to Spurs' campaign.

Blokes a class act, on dogmuck money too.....

Talking of Forest, they have done really well this season, they looked doomed early on, now well clear of the drop, Spud seems a decent manager TBH

Leeds manager getting a fair ride considering he is crap

He makes these long Americanised monologues but you look beyond that, they are properly in trouble

He kept them up and they sold raphina and kalvin philips in the summer. They bought players, but losing your 2 best players hurts. What would we be like this season without kane?

True but you have to crack on and Phillips was out for majorities of last year if memory serves, they spent near on 130m and have better resources than some of them round them. We would be worse off of course because Kane is a generational talent, but if we got the money he is worth and we reinvested you would expect some level of parity

They spent £99.1m in the summer and sold £97.4m. They spent in jan, McKennie etc...

Did we get the level of parity when we sold bale?

Yeh pretty much, was about one win difference season on season despite not all the signings that replaced him firing.

Leeds were also a better side than they showed last season so probably had more to work with in general.

They look turgid and lost, their manager is just not very good

Strange to give him the chance to spend more in the window, then immediately sack him after a game once it's closed and you're stuck with the players he's brought in?

Unless something new has happened in the last hour or 2? He'll leave if they're found guilty and lose the appeal. Which could be a year from now.
One of the staff leaking to press that he won't be around for the decision and doesn't wanna see it out. Can't imagine with his history he fancies weeks and months of questions from the press.

Going to be interesting times regardless

Just signed a new contract. So costly if he jumps ship.

Interesting times indeed.
