Had a really strange feeling watching the United game, similar to deja vu, like my brain isn't computing fans being back in properly. Think I'll go have a lie down. :confused:

Yes, it is weird to see.

Also - personally - I’ve seen no media coverage at all about the potential effect on cases now that all crowds are back. Hope it doesn’t lead to a new spike.

Why a lot of you still think Solskjær is such a bad manager is something I don't really understand.
Even if he wins the PL and CL, I bet you'd still say he's no good, it's only luck etc. I think he's proving he's quite capable, and they play good football too.

For me it’s because when they have a Big must win game under him they bottle it
He also has shown nothing tactically
He got the job because of who he was, not because of what he has done
Abs they have backed him massively. Yet he hasn’t got near to winning anything of note (unless the Europa now is a biggy for United)

A relief to see that the crowds at Lollapalooza hasn’t become a super-spreader event, bodes well for the return of packed football stadia where the abundant fresh air plus high vaccination rates should hopefully keep virus at bay.

How has he not shown anything tactically? What a strange comment to make, considering they came from losing positions to wins about 20 times last season. But you're saying he did nothing in those games to turn it around. They just won despite his tactics?

Also, we won fudge all, and lost most crunch games under Poch. So he's rubbish then, and a tactical novice. OK....
And just before you try to bring it up as an excuse for Poch. We had just as good a team then, as united have now.

It’s the Henman paradox. Going behind but beating a lesser opponent is just a game that was harder fought than it should be.

I do think he’s bought well and gives players freedom, the games against City a plus too but when it comes to United, competing for the title or CL should be the minimum they expect given their spend.

Their league position last season speaks louder than most praise from pundits.

They get these results, that's the consequence of playing a high risk high reward system even when up against teams with much better players. But having that settled system that they get better at (imo) by playing it just about always against just about anyone has upsides too.

Last season at least they were able to absorb these results and "go again" in the next game. As a result they finished higher than most newly promoted teams can even dream of.

Doing that while being entertaining, while playing positive open football, fun games. That has to be one of the hardest things to do in football. Well deserving of praise imo.

So all others are underachieving when not managing to win from a losing position? And its not only vs "lesser" opponents. They did it consistently.
The point is that he isn't a bad manager. He's a pretty good one! He's bought well, integrated the new players well, and have got the team to play good football, they've been in finals, and comfortably qualified for the CL. They lack a top striker, but I'm fairly sure they'll get Haaland next year, and they'll be a very dangerous side then.

Don't really see a lot of people calling him a bad manager anymore.

To me he's never shown that he can make a team better than the sum of it's parts. At the very top of the PL he's up against managers that (imo) has shown that. He's being compared to some of the best managers money can get you in the modern game. Against that comparison he's not shown himself good enough so far.

Competent, yes, must definitely. He's plugged hole after hole in what was a unbalanced squad with some very good players. He's mostly done that by spending big money and hefty wages, but that's fine for United, they have the money. Could have been a lot worse, that much is clear.

Very few top clubs keep "capable" managers around for very long. He has to prove himself better than that. He might. We'll see.

It’s why we sacked poch
Although poch did make the CK final with us missing key players which is something Ole an only dream of to date
You keep on sticking up for him fella. He needs more supporters outside of United as most fans of other clubs I know think he is clueless too. TBH most United supporting fans I know don’t rate him either.

He hasn’t had any say in any signing there
It’s done by others. Hence why their fans have complained that it’s all took too long. He is a figure head there
And the coaching is done by Mike Phelan who they brought back from India if IIRC and McKenna who both got rapidly elevated to “help”
I know people who have observed several sessions there as part of their training and that’s their comments
