The Official 2021/22 Premier League Thread

I played football in the 70s for our companies team with a bloke from Nigeria, he was just an ordinary cheerful fella, when we went to the league presentation dance him and his wife turned up in the full gear. It got a bit hairy when someone took the tinkle. He was a lovely bloke with a great sense of humour and he dressed up to send pictures home to his family who would be very proud of him.

Nipped from the athletic (Article is based on if EPL implemented a La Liga style wage cap aligned to income)

Interesting jump outs -> Us ahead of Pool, how low Leicester and Everton are (I remember arguing about them at some point)

Interesting…. Does this indicate that we are therefore the least ambitious club in the PL?

Players will be given the benefit of the doubt this season as goals won't be ruled out for offside due to toenails and noses, Premier League referee chief Mike Riley has said.

After coming under heavy criticism over the last two seasons, the Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL) are to introduce subtle changes to an official's use of VAR this campaign.

The dreaded lines used to work out marginal offside decisions are now being made thicker in order to give the advantage back to the attacking side.

There will still be an amount of offside where the difference is a single pixel and it has to be given.

People will still bitch and whine about that.

All the fans will do is bitch and moan about the decisions they bitched and moaned about being given last season were not given this season.
