The Official 2019/20 Premier League Thread

A few days ago they said that Ljungberg will be given a chance (they obviously felt like they couldn't wait any longer and Emery had to go) but they havent been able to nail down a replacement and were hoping Ljungberg would keep things steady for a bit until they find someone, which is now backfiring.
Fingers cross the bad results continue and the end up rushing their search for the next man instead of weighing up the best solution.

Don’t they have united pool and city before Christmas ...

Edit, city Chelsea and United

Potter is a good coach and has changed the football really quickly at Brighton

I predicted they would go down, and that they were expecting too much of Potter as his exposure to top level football was very limited (despite that I really liked what he was doing at Swansea).

They went from a steady, if pragmatic, pair of hands to a new sexy attacking style, it was never going to happen over night, and they would pay the price.

Foolish, foolish Brighton.

And now at December my prediction is looking really rather weak isnt it?

Fair play to them, and to him - so far doing a cracking job.

Not just rushing their search, but rushing the appointment too. They may already know who they want, or have a small number of managers on their wish list. If they're not available until the summer they may have to appoint someone that's much lower down their list.

Well it’s still early days but credit where it’s due
What I was really impresses with was the control they exerted at the end of the game and keeping the ball

Exactly, probably thought they could get Allegri, Ancelotti etc then when they realised they couldn't get them instantly hoped Ljungberg would tide them over for a bit and keep the fans calm. If the results dont pick up quickly they might need to rush into someone who wasnt one of their first choices, lose a few and they might just need to call up Big Sam!
