The "Official" 2013/14 Other teams matches thread

Yeah but theyre great games to be in - id rather play against that lot - ANY... DAY...

Naturally.

But, and although I dont agree with it, there are some big names dropping into the EL.

As mentioned above, 20% chance (possibly higher if Wigan and Swansea finish 2nd) that we could draw Porto, Ajax or Juventus. The possibility of a top European night at the Lane on the horizon in late Feb

Good for us that goons go through in 2nd place -- means they will likely have 2 very tough games to (hopefully) f**k up their league fixtures.

Draw at home to Everton, beaten down to 2nd place by Napoli. A good spanking from City this weekend and we'll see what they are made of. Hopefully, the wheels come off for them and we pick up our own form right at the same time.

And they wouldn't have had to play very tough games in that competition eventually anyway? They're nowhere near the level required to win the competition so it's probably beneficial from their perspective if they go out in the second round as it's fewer games and they can concentrate on getting fourth or whatever. I know we like them losing but in the long run them getting knocked out by Bayern or someone early on doesn't mean much as it would happen eventually anyway.

After seeing Chelsea win it, I wouldn't like them to get too far...you never know!

But I think if they face a really good team in the first knock-out stage, they'll get dumped out. And if that coincides with them stumbling a bit in the league, the pressure can build and we can (hopefully) watch them crack.

So far this season, it's all been going nicely for them. What we want now is for a sea-change and I hope that has begun with the draw v Everton and tonight's defeat.

Situations like that can happen all the time, we had a scare against inter too...

You're right, situations happen like that all the time, then again it was probably one of a few penalty shootouts in the Europa League all competition, but hey thats not the point. It was a lottery once it went to penalty shootouts and it didnt matter how much we wanted it, it was out of our hands.

I coming from behind and equalising in the closing moments showed how much we wanted it, as well as fighting with 10 men to reach penalties showed how much we wanted it.

Is it me or is there a real lack of top class goalkeepers in world football? Even the best ones like Lloris and Neuer make more mistakes than the likes of Schmeichel did when he was one of the best.

but it would have been nice to beat them in the Europa League final

As I left work tonight singing "Napoli, Napoli.." that was my desire...

All the gooners were actively discussing the possibility of 3-0...of course the 6-0 was mentioned but I parlayed tonight with City on Sunday so fun for me tomorrow and their arseholes are alight...

Good to see Wenger trying to turn his team ****ing up 1st place into a positive hahaha, bell end...

The crumble has begun

The only comfort is that having them still in the champions league will mean they cant just focus on the league. If they were in the EL they wouldnt give a monkeys. Lets hope they take a real spanking at the weekend and a drubbing at Barcelona or Real Madrid.
