The new, new manager thread - Pt 3

Would you get sacked if you leaked details a deal your employer was trying to close online?

Levy should know by now he is not allowed to speak to the boss of another club without their permission. My GHod if the boot was on the other foot...........

Suspending not sacking. If even true. And not everyone, just the people who seem to have breached trust inherent to theiremployment
Why even say he's bald? of course he is, it's a fact. It doesn't mean anything or add to your statement.

Why say he is bald? Its one of his distinguishing features. I'm receding and proud:)

can't see RM letting ancelotti go, who else are they going to replace him with? aside from the obvious, his players do seem to get along fine with him and he's managed ronaldo's ego very well.

They would be nuts (not that they aren't)

Ancelotti is exactly what they need, a calm person in the middle of that circus of stupid expectation and hype...

Let them sabotage Pool and Suarez this summer, and give Ancelotti some money to spend defensively .. all will be well.

They sacked Del Bosque after he won the champions league. But I wouldn't want Ancelotti after the way he behaved towards us last summer over Bale

If I remember correctly, he limited himself to saying that he would have liked Bale to be at the club, before qualifying that statement by insisting that he had no intention of upsetting Andre (I think), who he considered a friend.

He seemed fairly dignified through it all. His assistant, though...now there's a grade-A ****.

You honestly think we would have a shot at getting him even if he was to leave Real?!? Some of the rose-tinted spectacles which people have on here are astonishing!! He has no ties with Spurs, we finished 6th last year to are in the EL, we dont have bags of money to spend and, whilst he has managed in England before, its not like he would be moving home in the same way that he would be in moving to a similar Italian team. The idea he would come to Spurs is simply bonkers - it would be a huge step down

New quotes from Verts:

"No I have a couple years more at Tottenham, I'm happy at Tottenham I'm staying."

"I'm definitely staying at Tottenham whoever the manager is."

"He's (de Boer's) a good manager but there's other good managers. The chairman will make the decision."

Mauricio Pochettino is ready to pledge his managerial future to Southampton – provided he is given assurances his leading players will not be sold this summer.

Pochettino was expected to become Tottenham manager this summer, but that switch is now in serious doubt because of a boardroom split at White Hart Lane.

He is already believed to have had preliminary talks with Saints chairman Ralph Krueger and owner Katharina Liebherr about his own future.

Now he is willing to inform them he will stay at St Mary’s as long as the squad he guided to eighth place in the Premier League this season is not broken up.

He will also demand cash to strengthen the team, firmly believing he can push Saints to the brink of Champions League football next season.

World-Cup bound Saints skipper Adam Lallana and defender Luke Shaw are both being widely tipped to leave Saints.

Lallana is wanted by Liverpool, and Shaw is a £27million target of Manchester United.

Pochettino is ready to work overtime to try to keep both players at Saints, even though his chances might look slim.

But he is desperate to keep the likes of Rickie Lambert, Jay Rodriguez, Morgan Schneiderlin and Jose Fonte at Saints, and bring in at least three new signings in a bid to take Saints to the next level.

The Argentine still has one year left on his Saints contract, and has maintained he is obliged to see it out, despite Spurs interest.

But now with the move to White Hart Lane looking less likely, he feels St Mary’s is the best place to further enhance his managerial credentials.

Yep you can tell he is not interested by the way he was pictured at spurs with he's kids.

The cl final is done so just get on with it spurs so we can get a half decent pre season

The limitations of Bielsa style high pressing have been shown up against tonight. You can only do it for so long but the team's stamina goes. This high pressing is what Poch will be bringing in. Its usually very hard to find proper footballers who are better at does this than the athletes it favours. I wanna see Spurs be a Football team not some super fit athletics club.

The limitations of winning the league and only missing out on the Champions League because of extra time when you have a budget and squad worth about a 5th of your two biggest rivals?

And do you not think Southampton have played some of the best football in the league last season? Because most other people do.

I'm pretty sure he's allowed to talk to any manager he wants.

There's a gentlemen's agreement in place that you don't do it during the season to other PL clubs, but that's it as far as I know.

In any case, he was only there looking at our coaching methods learning, taking in the whole set up to take back to Southampton. Honest guv.

Watch out, we have a body language expert in the house.

Agreed. There are tapping-up rules for players and it's hardly as if these are sacrosanct. Managers are free to talk to who they want.

Are people convinced that those pictures of Poch at the training ground recently? If they are, then surely it means we are in the final stages. If we were discussing things without Southampton's agreement it would be done is a less obvious location and Poch would hardly bring his kids to check out the training centre.
