We couldn't have asked for much more, really. Unbeaten at WHL for the entire last season. Ended with GHod knows how many straight home wins (8, 9, 10?) in all competitions. Claimed our best league position in 56 years in the final game, after a solid, deserved win against the best team in the country the past 25 years - of course with one final, spurrsy twist of us allowing an easy goal to make the win harder for ourselves. And the final goal scored by a Spurs player at WHL of course came from one of our own; a youth prospect and a lifelong Spurs supporter - and a legend in the making.
Of course it would've been better if Rooney hadn't scored, but as soon as I saw the Sky stat of him being the joint away team top scorer at the Lane, I had a feling he'd get one tonight. And we would've all loved to win the title in the final season, but it wasn't to be.
Flags and singing at the end, storming of the pitch, that rainbow...goosebump time. It was a fitting finale, I think.
