The Injury Thread - 2011-12

Any news on Bassong? Limped out of wolves west brom with what looked like a hamstring issue.

They don't have a game for 2 weeks and Wolves fans seem to think he was taken off as a precaution and should be ready for the next game.

HUDDLESTONE UPDATE

Tom Huddlestone will undergo a second stage of surgery on Friday to further his recovery following ankle surgery at the end of last year.

The midfielder has progressed well since his initial surgery, with the specialist determining that the anticipated reconstruction of a lateral ankle ligament is the next step towards the England international making a return to full fitness.

----------

Guess we won't be seeing him again this season :(

Edit: Yup, Hudd has tweeted that his aim is now to be 100% fit for pre-season. I hope this surgery puts an end to his fitness troubles of the past couple of years and we can get a proper full season out of him again.

Yep, no Hudd for this season. Literally, will be like having a new signing in the August transfer window

That afro is going to get out of control, hope he sticks it out though, he'll be giving benny competition next season. Can't wait to see what Hudd can do within this current team

Cant really see Hudd as anything other than a sub from now on in,i think the quality of the Spurs middfield has overtaken him.

He is probably behind Modric, Parker, Sandro.

Probably in front of Livermore, though livermore is more a utility player.

Plus we'd have to wait and see how he is after a year out... He may never be the same again... :(

Edit: At least we're not trying to rush him back ala Wheelchair... That's a sure fire way to ruin a career..

He sounded quite hesitant and unsure about all of those, actually. I think he was just making stuff up on the spot, so people couldn't accuse him of disrespecting the cup by resting players.

No news on Sandro from Harry, but Ben Pearce from London 24 tweeted on friday that he should be back for the NLD

Modric always seems to be ill with colds/flu and often just before a game. Must have happened a few times this season alone, last season too iirc. Strange....

Benny out.

Now, why the hell did we loan out 3 fullbacks, again ?

That means Kaboul/Rose/Livermore/even King on left back vs. Walnutt. Gre-at.

Be more worried if Oxlaide-Chamberlain plays there, he actually takes fullbacks on as opposed to Walcott who plays like the 2 years ago lennon e.g. hoof it into the fullback for a corner

Hang on. Where does it say, anywhere, that he is out?

In Harrys words, a minor foot op, and should be ready for the weekend. Doesn't sound anything much to me.

Need to take a step back here guys.
