The Inbetween Transfer Windows Rumour Thread

Is he 30 yet?

I'd much rather get someone in young who can learn his trade here. Having Defoe Huntelaar and Ade isn't going to work if AVB decides to play just one striker at a time. We need a young beast of a striker who'll take opportunities as a blessing and therefore actually work hard for it. It's annoying always having a strike-force that's continuously pushing the wrong side of 30, it'd be nice to have a player in who we could actually see develop as oppose to deteriorate after the last big contract steadily ticks down.

Maybe having that third striker will allow AVB to go with 442 more often since he can continue rotating. I guess it depends on whether we advance in the Europa league as well. Personally, I don't even want to think about a striker until we figure out our midfield situation.

There are 30 points to play for before the window opens, we need to win 20 of them I reckon, no good waiting on January to get things going, it'll be over by then if we do.

If we get 30 then we probably won't sign anyone, double edged sword ...

I can't stand him. I think he makes Defoe look multi-dimensional. Far too slow and poor at linking up to succeed in a top league (as he showed when he flopped in Spain and Italy).

he didnt flop in Spain. Just Real madrid being cnuts as usual and buying top players for big sums without thinking if A)they really need them and B) how to use them properly

eg Huntelaar and fellow dutchmen Sneijder, VDV, Robben. Look what theyve done with Sahin. I really wonder if Modric will be given a proper chance to shine or will he be sacrificed next summer.

for the minutes he played, Huntelaar had a more than decent record in Spain

My knickers are not in a twist. You have ducked the question. I will ask for the final time.
In what way did this post add to any discussion about possible Spurs transfers?

And i will answer it for the second time, about as much as the post i quoted.

Serious question.

If we were to sign Willian, someone AVB has wanted from his *spit* Chelsea days, he would surely be a starter wouldn't he? So what happens to Lennon? Or Willian on the left, Bale free roaming? Willian behind the striker?

Competition?

AVB may be Will's "mate" but will he turn down mega bucks from Chelsea?
But then again maybe they have enough "midfielders"

Willian central but he's a free roamer so I imagine him and Bale would swap a lot. Wait who am I kidding, we won't sign him :(

That is the first real look I've had at Willian and I have to say I am impressed. He looks exactly what we need at the moment. These good performances will not help us buy him though. I hope he has a few stinkers for his next CL matches.

Willian scored twice at the brickhouse tonight therefore Chelsea will bid ridiculous for him in January let's just move on to next target.

It's funny isn't it. I could probably find a load of posts on how Willian wouldn't get in our team, Willian isn't all that etc. etc. when really, people just hadn't seen him play. Now all of a sudden, they've seen him play a few times and realise he's the real deal and want him in the team. The same was happening with Falque, hate for no reason whatsoever, when really, they hadn't even seen him play a full game.

TOTTENHAM and Saudi Sportswashing Machine have joined the race for Blackpool star Tom Ince.
SunSport revealed last month that Manchester United had jumped the queue for the England Under-21 ace after dad Paul met ex-boss Alex Ferguson.
But both Andre Villas-Boas’ Spurs and Alan Pardew’s Toon have registered an interest with the midfielder’s advisors.
Ince, out of contract in June, is keen on a Premier League return after being released by Liverpool last year.
The 20-year-old — rated at £8million — fits the bill for Pardew with his age and potential sell-on value.
Pardew has also identified Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko as a key target.
