Think I read somewhere that he's had a big falling out at Zenit because of the wages the new signings there are on, compared to him and others. I get a feeling if that's true, they'd rather sell cheap than keep him. I think he'll go somewhere half decent for £4-8m. Could star at any number of PL clubs, would be a great squad player for us though.

It seems there is an issue with Russians wanting to feel like the main man, look at Pav, Asrhavin, Zirkov all of whom's form nose dived when they were not integral to the team. Unless we are signing a russian to be a mainstay I'd steer well clear, might be cultural or just false perception based on a small subject group, but think with his rant about not being a main man (wage wise) it shows it may be a cultural thing.

Borussia Monchengladbach winger Patrick Herrmann has played down talk linking him with a possible move to Tottenham.

Recent reports have suggested Spurs are weighing up a £7million move for the 21-year-old in the January transfer window.

However, Herrmann claims he is unaware of any interest from Spurs and that he is happy with life at Monchengladbach.

"I have heard about that. I read papers," Herrmann told Rheinische Press. "Of course, those sums are somewhat flattering.

"You don't have to overrate it. My agents did not tell me anything about it. That's just rumours.

"I am happy about the praise. But why should I leave now? I feel great here. And the last season was great fun, we played beautiful football. We want to return to that now and are on the right path."
 
Lazio are monitoring the contract situation of Schalke and Holland international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, reports claim.

The striker is only tied to his German club until June 2013 and could thus be available on a Bosman next summer.

Lazio are understood to be interested in pairing the 29-year-old with Miroslav Klose, a player who they signed from Bayern Munich for free in 2011.

Huntelaar, formerly of Ajax and Real Madrid, is no stranger to Serie A after moving to Milan for €15m in the summer of 2009.

However, he left for Schalke a year later after scoring just seven goals in 25 League games for the Stadio Meazza giants.

KJH and Llorente possibly going on frees, could be a few bargains going in the summer. That said they'll probably sign contracts or price us out of a move with crazy agents demands due to the lack of a transfer fee.
