The Goon Thread

Bizzare that the reason given on MOTD for Arsenal playing poorly against Burnley was they were tired from their midweek game. They played at home whilst we travelled to Moscow and still looked fresher. Tired in October what the fudge? If so they need a serious look at their fitness regime. Ok they lucked out with the last second goal but I can't see a team this mentally weak winning the title.

They are the masters of winning when there's no pressure. Everyone expects Emirates Marketing Project to win the title with United pushing them so scum have no real pressure and it's showing.

My only fear is eventually they will get their act together and actually deliver when people really expect them to win the title but they have to prove it. Pains me to say it but we are quite similar to them in that regard. We do well when we fly under the radar and don't seem to be able to cope when it starts to look like we can win something.

The main thing that will keep Arsenal in a title hunt this year is whether we are in the title hunt AND being talked as being as such.

Grabbing some of any Flashy Kudos given to us would be the main motivation this season imo

I was just watching Ian Wright on the box, talking about The Goons

I looked up the record of Premier League top scorers i.e 1992 onwards and noticed that The Legend Ian Wright has 113, Dion Dublin has 111. That surprises me. Wright played in some great Goon teams. Dublin played for Cov and Villa mostly.

Yes Dublin carried on longer but only started 3 years later, Wright was in his prime at the Goons. Well done Dion!

Note also that Aguero is creeping up there
Note that Bent (playing at some real brick) got more than Drogba (playing at a dominant Cheatski)!
Note that Defoe just overtook Sheringham and has Big Les next, then Owen within 3 goals!

Note that in 1992 the top scorers were as follows. We got Teddy, Les and Chris. We did not get Dean Holdsworth and Micky Quinn and David White and Brian Deane.
Shearer, Cantona, Hughes, Le Tiss, great players.

From The Guardian about the electric showdown between Manure and Liverbore:

That was a wretched game of football and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It was pure filth.

Think they are looking like a much improved outfit. Would be my favourite for the league ATM.
City have had a big wobble, it will be interesting to see these two over the next few months.

They always look like the favourites in October.

Emirates Marketing Project still have the best team, the two best players and the best manager.

I agree they normally rooster it up but they look a little less fragile this season in defence.
I dont think I am so much for City as I was. Intriguing league this season.

Give it time.

I actually think Ozil and Sanchez are their key components to winning the league. Ozil always goes missing for at least 1/3 of the season.

Quite worried Wenger is gonna ride off in to the sunset this season having signed off with a League/CL title
