Not sure, I've only been doing this for the last few years as an antidote to the 'how high can we go?' angst. 'How low can't we go?' seemed to give balance.

Now we are out of Europe getting bigger breaks between games is gonna help for sure.
But we're still iffy, flaky, inconsistent and have been all year, so we can compare all we like with other teams, but prediction of our own results, even if the run in is perceived as easy, is a fruitless task.

I think we need 7 wins on the basis that its realistic to think that Chelsea, in decent form, might win 6 of their 9 games and we need to catch-up 3 points. So if we get 4 points from those two games which you mention, we might well not even need to win the Leicester game (point might be enough) if we're on form. 6 wins and 2-3 draws might be enough too
In our favour is that all the teams which we play in May, possibly including Leicester too, might not have anything at all to play for by the time we play them and Man U have their EL QF either side of our game against them
I think West Ham have an excellent chance - their run-in is pretty friendly too

A draw between West-Ham and Chelski while we pick up the CC trophy would do just fine.

I’ve added United and Leicester too, and included matches where teams are playing each other (and bolded games against City)

Leicester have a tough run-in but given the headstart, I'd be surprised if they won't find 3-4 wins to get top 4 sealed (there's another game missing in there for them btw)
The win over villa though makes me more optimistic as its a gain of a couple points on what I might have expected. Assuming its a Leicester-City cup final (or Leicester-Chelsea with chelsea finishing 4th), then 6th spot gets EL and in which case I reckon we have a >50% chance of getting European football again next season.

Agreed. So many teams and so many swings up and down for most teams around us. The only thing we can do is win the next game, and then the next...
Not overly optimistic about our chances, it will be tough. And it will probably require us finding consistency in results we haven't seen for a rather long time.

PLease could someone remind me of the latest version of the rules re CL qualification?
- If we finish 4th, and Liverpool finish 5th but win the CL...do we qualify for the CL?
- If we finish 4th, and Arse finish 12th(!) but win the EL...do we qualify for the CL?
- If we finish 4th, and Man U finish 2nd but win the EL...do we qualify for the CL?
What has to happen for a team to finish 4th, but not quality for the CL?
