think manutd have done well to get 81 points, but you could make a very good argument that the likes of martial, alexis, (a confident) shaw, jones, de gea, herrera, matic, lukaku, mata,valencia would start for any top 4 contenders (bar city) in their respective positions. then they also have the likes of rashford, lingard, carrick too. definitely do not require a geniuses to finish 2nd with these players, nor a turgid style of football

maybe they would, maybe not. but they arguably would be (bar lukaku). and so whilst finishing 2nd is still a good achievement, its probably par for the quality of the squad
