Television Coverage Of Spurs

Sky covered 3 games that day with those pundits. That's why they were chosen.
The whole finale thing wasn't agreed to be shown on Sky until around a week before hand.
Any Spurs figure they could have got to be a pundit was out there on the pitch.
King and Hoddle have both been on Sky recently enough for some of our games.

In any world, can you imagine the final game at any other ground where the highlight memory game is the home team having one of it's worst collapse results? and they fudging did a Mourinho feature (nothing on Poch).

Come on mate, there is incompetence, business decisions and then there is being fudging disrespectful. Spurs hasn't been at an elite level for some time, but we aren't fudging some bottom level club with an unknown manager just hanging in there.

I actually think they are gushing about us for the most part. The keep saying what a great thing we have going to the point that on Sunday I thought "Would ye ever shut the f**k up?" The host, after the Finale, said "What a great send off. Lads is this a club that can just do no wrong?" If they spoke about any other club like they do us, I'd have a pain in my hole listening to them.

The panel do say that we have to keep our team together and not sell like we've done in the past. That's a fair point. So is the point about the fact we've won nothing. As much fun as the last two years have been, if we fall away, it'll mean very little in the scheme of things. They're fair points and, as analysts, it's their job to point those things out.

Tyler does seem to throw in snide remarks about us though.

They like all the media need a story, with us they have to create one.
Football Weekly said it best one week, we didnt talk about spurs as its dull, well run club, does well with no drama.

I agree pretty bad having, Henry, Souness, Redknapp, Neville for last ever game at the lane.
The issue is that Sky feel they need to have pundits who have won things to give them credibility.
Therefore you arent going to see Dawson picked over Henry to talk about can Spurs win the title as its easy to point the finger and say what does he know, they could have had Hoddle in, but he was too busy being a legend on the pitch to have a argument behind some glass.

Henry i think is about as fair to us as is souness as he can, Neville loves us.
I find redknapp and tyler quite snide, and anything positive is followed up by trying to sell a player.

The Arse game at the Lane had, Henry, Lampard, Redknapp, Tyler and Smith, not impartial is it?

The Utd game had Souness, Henry, Redknapp, Tyler and I don't know the co commentator, I switched it over soon after kick off. The only partisanship there is to Liverpool and Arsenal. It's just simply fact!

Souness even said before kick off "Spurs aren't renounded for really getting behind their team"? What the fudge? As far as home grounds go it's on the top 5 at the very least.

Nothing I've written above is debateable (except the top 5 comment) so how can it be possibly said that they're impartial, let alone gushing about Spurs in our last 2 games at home?!

Arsenal have sold more key players to rivals in the last 5 years than us

And they've gotten a rough ride from all the media this season. Deservedly so too.

Also, I've heard dozens of analysts say "they've got to hold on to Sanchez."

Sky aren't out to get us lads. For the most part they love us.

Don't watch Sky. I haven't for years and I don't feel I've missed a thing. That includes going on their headache of a website, just to read fiction.

I thought it was quite classy of Henry on Sunday, when asked about his memories of winning the League at The Lane, to respond with 'today is not about that/me, today is about Tottenham'.

He's right in a way, in all the years I've been going we have nearly always had good support for playing well, what I've never seen at WHL is the crowd slavishly cheer for poor performances. There are plenty of teams where their crowd cheer for getting a throw in or worse an aimless punt upfield which is chased. When I first went we use to applaud good play from our opponents, but that will never happen again with the type of fan there is nowdays.

Henry went right up in my estimation when he said this. He'd had plenty of chance to rub it in with Ledley during "The Boots Are Off", and it was all done in fair banter. HE could've carried it on but chose to be dignified. The guy loves Arsenal and understandably so, so it can't have been particularly pleasant for him to be pundit for what was very much a Sky Tottenham love-in that day. Thought he approached it like a gentlemen. We all know what happened that day with Arsenal, and he knows we all remember it, so to shoot down the question and give a dignified response was very enlightening.

With Merse and Wrighty, they hate having to praise Spurs, but they are at least honest enough to acknowledge how well we're playing. It's always done through gritted teeth which i personally find endearing and a joy to watch. They always do it with a frustrated smile and make no bones about how hard it is to admit it which only adds to my satisfaction.

Smith and Tyler are an entirely different matter though. They hide behind the camera and even their positive commentary is said with such a tone of resignation, disappointment and negativity it's frankly embarrassing.

As for Redknapp - he flits in and out of love with us, though tbf he has been very positive about us lately. Almost to the point of over the top.
