Television Coverage Of Spurs

Hey Spursman, I'm intrigued by this product. Will it work with a 10mb/s download speed?

I'm stuck in Australia and with our ancient brick, brickty, brick internet infrastructure.

10mb is fine to do everything on the box. I've had customers with much slower speeds with no issues.

A wired connection is obviously better and you can get away with slower speeds that way. I had a customer on 2mb download wired speed and things worked fine. Took longer to rewind or forward but everything streamed.

Watching a pretty good quality stream of PSG - Arse now, after a surprisingly simple and hassle free installation of sportsmania's android app on my tablet.

HD lagging slightly, but our wireless Internet is pretty brick, so that's most likely the problem. No problems at all with SD.

Really liking this. Signed up for a week to try it, but if I can watch Spurs tomorrow no problem, I'll definitely extend.

Thanks for the tip, @Kandi1977!

My verdict for Sportsmania after today: 5/10.

Struggled on wireless for the entire first half. Tried android pad and mobile, with and withouh Chromecast. Picture lagging in HD and in SD, the sound was completely out of sync - commentators were probably a good ten seconds before the actual play. A lot of this I think is down to our pretty poor, 5 mbit wireless network though. In a few weeks we're up to 50 mbit, so I'm hopeful that will improve things.

Second half I plugged in my laptop. HD was still lagging, but SD worked well with no problems up until the 89th minute or so when all of a sudden neither the HD or SD channel would load at all. I tried other channels not showing Spurs with no problems.

I'll still give this another chance though, at least until I've upgraded my network speed at home to see if that makes things better. Next test with brick internet: Sunderland on Sunday evening.

Yea I was looking for a seamless "as good as tv" solution and I don't think sports/ultimate mania is this, I was on dazn for a week before this and it was perfect really, just that it's all German and I don't speak it and can't bare listening to it! So I'm back to square one but Dazn is ahead on points for sure.

Had some issues with the BT channels. Switched to Astro and it was flawless until around 88th-89th minute as you said. Had sound but picture stopped. That bit was not down to your connection. I'm on 60mbit and wire to the media box.

I was on Sportsmania on a Spursman box, went to the Calendar, chose the match, selected BT 3 HD, watched it all in really good quality and totally forgot it was not normal TV

Remember which of the BT3 channels you picked? First option didn't work at all for me. Second was alright, but with what sounded like 32kps sound. 3rd one (BT3 HD backup) was brilliant picture and sound, but it kept shutting off, taking me back to the selection screen every 5 minutes. Had better luck with Astro, until the last minutes of the game, when it started buffering.

Now watching Chelski - Pool in absolutely flawless HD, so it looks like the midweek troubles indeed had nothing to do with my connection.

Even tried SD over 4G and that was decent too. Definitely watchable.

10/10 rating tonight! [emoji4]

That's odd, I really struggled to get a good channel for Chelski - Pool. I tried all the links in the Calendar and they were all very bad i.e. freezing for 20 seconds, then Benny Hill runaround, then freezing, then jumping back to the Calendar. I got a passable channel in the end but it was not good at all... yet at the weekend for me it was spot on. Not sure why it varies so much, perhaps you need to get on there early, as I only tried to tune in half way through the game last night and really struggled.

Very odd, because I did switch on almost midway. 30 mins in, then I turned it aall off for half time and switched it back ten minutes or so into the second half. No problems at all. Maybe it's all a bit random..

helps if you turn off your router for a couple of mins then back on again,. do this before the game starts.

Also if youre using one of my boxes, delete cache and delete packages.

You're starting to sound a bit like Pablo Escobar.

Turn it on, turn it off, stand on one leg, take your wig off, stand on the other leg, put your wig on the mannequin to your left, bark like a dog, get down on all fours, take off your socks, stand up and shout GREEN AND WHITE, sit down and contemplate Africa, balance on tiptoes without not removing your t-shirt, enunciate wildly whilst pacifying atheists, hunker down in the bush, take off your bottom quarters and spring wildly upwards chanting Kabaddi-Kabaddi-Kabaddi-Kabaddi. Get down on the floor and grind your hips into the dirt. Roll over and cry for your mommy. Press start. Enjoy football.
