You don't wear shirts when your doing medicals.

Madrid always have public medicals and shirts are always off.

we are not Madrid

and id guess the pic was taken at the end of the medical when he could have had a spurs training t shirt on....wonder if it was Under Armour or Puma

I have received a text from an impeccable source saying that Tottenham have made 40 employees including office staff redundant on compensation agreements.

Cant think why we would need to embark on such a huge cost cutting exercise... wondered what people's thoughts are on this..

This person also said that there are rumours in City professional circles that the club is being sold to the Kuwaitis but as I said these are rumours.

...and in response...

I just text someone who works for the club and they said its true but not as many as being made out

Cannot see how that would not have been tipped off in the press if true, which I find very hard to believe. Think about it, not one of those people have contacted the press anonymously

There's suggestions on SC that the redundancies are due to the old training ground closing and some not wanting to commute to the new one.

Spurs defender Rose in demand as Saudi Sportswashing Machine and West Brom eye loan deal

West Brom and Saudi Sportswashing Machine are both keen on a loan move for Tottenham full-back Danny Rose, 21.

Spurs, though, are expected to lose another full-back, Vedran Corluka.

The former Emirates Marketing Project man is set to join Lokomotiv Moscow.

Thanks Charlie

Hold on, why is he going to dark Russia? Wasn't he the second coming of Panucci? The white Cafu? Surely such a massive talent deserves to play at the very top.

Oh wait...

Scrap with the manager, I believe.

dont know if somebody has stated this before in this thread but Sigurdsson was Hoffenheim?s player of the year before he joined Swansea. It was a bizarre fall out with a new manager that caused him to be loaned out, the fans were not happy. It would have been similar to us loaning out Modric.

Sigurdsson is better than Gudjohnsen was at his age and is guaranteed 10-15 goals in a good side.

Ajax insist that talks between themselves and Tottenham Hotspur over the transfer of Jan Vertonghen are continuing.

However, reports in Holland claim that the deal for the Belgian defender has hit problems due to an agreement between the player and Ajax.

It is claimed that the 25-year-old, who has 12-months left on his current deal, would be due a percentage of any transfer fee but sources suggest Ajax are not willing to pay this.

Ajax, though, insist that talks are ongoing and despite the fact they want a quick resolution, there is no fresh news on the situation.

"We all hoped for a rapid agreement between Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax and Spurs and Jan Vertonghen," Ajax financial director Jeroen Slop told De Telegraaf.

"It's in its final stage, but in our opinion there is still no concrete news."

The player's agent Mustapha Nakhli has called on Ajax to make the deal happen.

"Jan Vertonghen has always stood by Ajax, and he expects that the club does the same," Nakhli also told De Telegraaf.
.........................

clearly its not 'done' then

At the weekend there was the welcome news for Tottenham Hotspur fans that a fee had been agreed with Ajax for the Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen. After months of coming and going, and both clubs playing hard-ball, the matter looked to be at an end.

Well, there's been another twist. Voetbal Primeur in Belgium say that Vertonghen is ready to pull the plug on the deal himself because he feels Eredivisie side Ajax have gone back on an agreement they had with him. He believes he's entitled to 15% of any transfer fee and this is why he was paid less than others at Ajax.

Vertonghen came through the Ajax youth system and made his way through the ranks to become captain of the club. The falling out is a shame but if he was promised a percentage and Ajax are turning back on that then his anger is understandable.

VP say that Ajax are adament that if any club is going to pay Vertonghen the 15% then it should be Tottenham Hotspur. The player himself is so angry that he's ready to play in Holland for another season and then join Spurs in a years time for absolutely nothing when his contract runs out.

Ajax surely won't want to miss out on a fee for the defender and Vertonghen won't want to play another year in the Eredivisie given the bitter nature of talks this summer. Surely a solution will be found soon.

Surely other clubs will be interested too then and probably outbid us, wages-wise

No disagreements between player and Ajax over the 15% of transfer fee. The deal between spurs and player is done and between spurs and ajax is done... Another team coming in will make no difference.

Apparently his agent says theyd agreed before about a 15% cut of the fee due to JV being on much lower wages than the rest of the team... But now Ajax want him to lower the % and thats why the deal has stalled.

I still expect it to be done... Think the part where he said hed stay another yr and go spurs on free is just a bluff to ajax to get things moving
