KWP has had a glorious opportunity to make his claim, and hasnt. Neither Trippier nor Aurier have cemented a place, and KWP just hasnt capitalised at all. Leaves me thinking he never will. Im not averse to him being in the squad, he could be a slow burn type player, but equally if we sold him today I do think his absence would go completely unnoticed.
Needless to say I do not agree with your assessment of Sissoko, and would happily let him go - but that would need to be based upon a replacement coming in. As you say, we need bodies there already so cant afford to lose someone we have been using without a replacement.
I do pose the question - is squad upheaval bad? In our case, Im not sure. Obviously there is a balance to be struck, but providing the core of the side remains Id be open to 5 or 6 ins (and outs). The sense right now is that things really need a refresh, and I dont think losing Trippier, Aurier, Wanyama, Rose (for example) ... would actually be disasterous in squad terms* or harmony terms.
*assuming decent replacements are found.
