Spurs in the FA Cup 2020-21 - The road to Wembley

The glory days down Buckingham Road, before Wycombe got promoted and we went down.

At least we had the likes of Waddle and Lineker grace our pitch, unlike scum down the road!

Preach. Currently the danger of a loyalty-splitting Ducks-Spurs clash looks rather minimal. I haven't lived there since 1990 but from what I understand some pretenders from Stocklake are doing just as well.

Anyway, apologies for derail all. The point is that a crushing defeat for Wycombe would be an important public service.

Wycombe is a good draw, potential tougher game with Everton but missed all of the headliners so can't complain.

Let's hope the Wycombe game is as entertaining as last time we played them. Although we don't have to make it quite as tense!

The last match I recall watching at Buckingham Road was 20 summers ago, Tottenham sent reserve team for a pre-season friendly but it was a bit of an anticlimax and ended 0-0.

At least Edgar Davids helped campaign to Bring the Ducks Home!

unfortunately Buckingham road is now
Completely derelict - its really sad, lots of good
Memories there.

My memories start with the starting whistle, and four or five of our blokes fouled off the ball within a couple of seconds - nothing doing from the ref. They then kicked us round the park for 90mins - the ref allowed it all. Making allowances for lower sides' poorer timing is one thing ...

I also remember being the first in the pub who'd actually seen our last 2 goals, drinks were easy to come by

I have quite the dislike of Wycombe too, when I was a lad, before being allowed to go to Spurs on my own, I’d go to Colchester United as that was the closest professional club, Wycombe were a thorn in their side, managed by Martin O’Neill.

Layer Road was a brickhole but those fudgers still came and vandalised the place.

Also, this might be a false memory I admit, but iirc, the Wycombe stadium was even worse, I went to the away game and I’m pretty sure we were stood behind some corrugated roofing held up vertically by wooden poles at the side of the pitch.

Absolute luxury compared to to their historic rivals up the A4010

I remember those days - AUFC were a real team back then. I always thought England came before the ‘90 WC not the ‘88 Euros, funny how time screws up the memory.
Yeah, was a nice cheap Saturday afternoon with the lads back when I was a teenager.

Such a pity what’s happened to the stadium, just lying derelict for over as decade.

Why the fudge is this game on Monday, when we play again on Wednesday?

Edit. Just realised we play Liverpool on Wednesday, so that explains why we only get one day off
