Spurs in the Carabao Cup 2020/21

Denmark Spur

Michael Carrick
Draw today on Sky Sports after the Brentford - Wycombe game.

The Carabao Cup round two and round three draws will take place on Sunday 6th September live on Sky Sports.

The draw will take place following the round one tie between Brentford and Wycombe Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

Upon its conclusion, the round three draw will then take place with each tie given a number in the order that they came out in the round two draw - they will then be subject to another unseeded draw on an either/or basis, alongside the seven Premier League Clubs competing in Europe who enter at this stage.

Having the draws conducted together will enable the EFL, Clubs and broadcasters to plan with additional clarity and certainty over a busy period of fixtures whilst supporters are unable to attend fixtures.

Joining the Carabao Cup at the Round Two stage are the 13 Premier League Clubs that are not competing in Europe in the 2020/21 season, including Everton, West Ham and Wolverhampton Wanderers alongside Sky Bet Championship sides Bournemouth and Watford. The remaining clubs, Liverpool, Emirates Marketing Project, Manchester United, Chelsea, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal will join in Round Three.

A silly comment really. Tell the fans of less fashionable clubs who have won it and had a great day out at Wembley and a route to play in Europe that it's ridiculous and unnecessary, think you find nearly all would disagree with you.

or the money it generates the lower league clubs.

It's a trophy we can win. I'm all for it. I think Mourinho will take it seriously as well, so hopefully we're going to be in with a shout to win it.

A completly ridiculous and unnecessary cup. The sooner this idiotic Cup dissappears, the better.

I don't think it needs to disappear, we just need to select sensible (ie weaker) teams for it. We'd accept that it increases the chances of an upset, but do so in the knowledge that taking some games out of the schedule for some of our top players probably helps our league position and chance in europe

The cup still has a place. However I don’t think it should have a Europa league place any longer.
Although I’d imagine when the UEFA club competitions have the reorganisation the League cup will qualify you for the new bottom tier competition.

Better than that, we should have a bye until the quarter final stage.

Another bloody away game

4 away games in 8 days, if we win in Bulgaria.

Insane schedule.

Mourinho will send the reserves for this one.

Sept 17: Loko Plovdiv (A, UEL)
Sept 20: Southampton (A)
Sept 22: Leyton Orient or Plymouth (A, EFL)
Sept 24: Botosani or Shkendija (A, UEL)

The timings are awful, but the opposition could be worse.
And hopefully it'll be Leyton Orient so that the travel is barely worth consideration
