It has to be an all or nothing approach right? If they have all teams tested the issue may be if anyone wants to postopone but they forfeit, a la Orient in the ECL?Will the FA Cup be off this weekend then ??

Just seen this, apparently notIt has to be an all or nothing approach right? If they have all teams tested the issue may be if anyone wants to postopone but they forfeit, a la Orient in the ECL?
This is symptomatic of a greater issue with all of this - the flagrant blurting of false information from "recognized sources" which then becomes "fact"...most unhelpful.
Probably not the right thread for it, but part of the problem is also people NOT believing what they read, despite evidence from respected sources, showing it to be true.Spot on, and sad to say the amount of folks around who believe everything they read.

Flat earthers / 5G masts / insert any random conspiracy here etc...
Social media plays a large - unhelpful - role here.
Celtic being allowed to fly to Dubai in a global pandemic shows how ridiculous the idea is that the rules are the rules and therefore its ok to do so.
Just seen this, apparently not

No club will automatically have to forfeit an FA Cup game if they are affected by coronavirus, with each case to be assessed by the FA on its individual circumstances, Sky Sports News understands.
No unilateral decision has been taken about whether postponing and re-arranging FA Cup matches is possible, with all teams taking part in this weekend's FA Cup games having to be tested for coronavirus 72 hours before the fixture.
In practice, a club will be told it must fulfil an FA Cup fixture if they have 14 players fit and available to play, although there are no specific guidelines about what level those players must be playing at, in order to be classed as eligible.
It, therefore, remains unclear whether the availability of U23 and U18 players means a club can technically fulfil a fixture - any club which feels it cannot do so must apply to the FA for a review
The FA will then investigate the individual circumstances at that club, considering factors such as whether they followed the necessary protocols; how many players are affected; and what is the strongest team they could actually field, before a decision is made by the Professional Game Board.
They would then decide whether the game should go ahead; be postponed and re-arranged; or forfeited by the team that is unable to fulfil the fixture.

This may be oversimplifying things but at the end of the day, what Celtic are doing is allowed. Mixing with other households is against the rules unless you are part of a bubble. Whether you agree with the rules or the fact that sport is allowed to continue or not it’s that simple for me. Just because people are breaking the rules doesn’t make it acceptable. The more people break the rules and mix then the longer we are all stuck in this nightmare. No chance we come out of lockdown in March if people continue to be stupid and selfish.

And they rearranged a match that the other team didn’t agree to to do it!Celtic being allowed to fly to Dubai in a global pandemic shows how ridiculous the idea is that the rules are the rules and therefore its ok to do so.

Absolutely right too.Probably not the right thread for it, but part of the problem is also people NOT believing what they read, despite evidence from respected sources, showing it to be true.

Hence why I say there is a mockery in the rules regardless. Yeh it might be allowed but if you take a step back and look t it logically would you hand on heart say you are comfortable with the idea? Rules or no rules thats where I clam coming from with it all, I step back and do I see horror more in what Lo Celso, Lamela, Lanzini and Reggie did than Celtic travelling abroad during a pandemic? I can hand on heart say I am equally put out by both, I am probably more on the Celtic part because the situation is dire and their actions are being approved so its not just a mind block for a night, someone has sat down and decided thats ok. I never said it was acceptable to break the rules I am saying that the horror of it should be in proportion TBH, people making out they have killed people when in fact actions that are allowed under rules have done more killing (houses being allowed to mingle up to certain numbers, Christmas allowed in certain tiers, spread in schools and Uni etc).
I think they are wrong, they took their punishment, but lets not pretend we are all at odds with safety when we no one mentioned the dangers of football taking place when people like Warnock at 70 odd years old contracted the virus etc
Like I said I want football to continue because I can admit to selfishly enjoy it hugely, so it suits me, but its at odds with whats safe so I wont tear into the players more than whats needed.
But will you criticize players who break the rules?
Yeh said they were wrong, thats as far as it goes, no lynching required TBH
