Sports Personality 2013

Surely Bale will make the top 10.

Certainly in with a shout. Had they voted in May or June he would have been in the running for sure. And was certainly on the back pages nearly everyday in summer.
And lets be honest I think he would have earned it more than Ryan Giggs did.

i'd honestly never heard of him, slim pickings this year, fair play to the bbc for having an eye on second tier sport

Does anyone find it a bit boring the constant slating of murray and the whole 'he has no personality' argument zzzzzzzzzz

+1

People are forever praising Bradley Wiggins for having a great personality, but he's actually quite boring when you listen to him. Just because he's got long sideburns and thinks he's a mod and occassionally says something controversial.

I'm sick of the Murray bashing. People said he would never win a slam, people said he would never win Wimbledon, well he does both of those things and still people slate him. I think a lot of people are generally too ignorant to read up about him and his life story, to achieve what he has achieved after what he went through as a child is remarkable, even now he can't do interviews without bursting into tears about Dunblane. Added to that, he had to carry the hopes of a nation for 7-8 years and he did it on his own as the rest of the British tennis players are so useless they can't get beyond the 4th round. He strikes me as a shy bloke who just wants to be left alone and doesn't enjoy any of the attention he receives one bit, the polar oppositie of Becks.

I hear it all the time still tbh I think it's mostly just down to the fact he's Scottish.

I think the problem is he just isn't that likeable. He sounds boring and dull, his on court personality isn't particularly pleasant, and as good as he is (and he is bloody fantastic) he is never going to be popular because of his lack of personality. He deserved to win the award because his achievements this year are remarkable, but they really should rename the trophy because he is certainly not a personality in the true sense of the word.

Lets be honest, if it was about personality, Jimmy Bullard would have won this years ago.
