Son Heung-Min

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said: "Sonny is one of the greatest players to ever wear the famous Lilywhite shirt and he has been a joy to watch over the past decade. Not only is he a wonderfully gifted footballer, but he's also an incredible human being who has touched hearts and inspired people throughout the Club and all over the world.

"The Europa League triumph in Bilbao was a truly magical moment in the Club's history and Sonny lifting the trophy is a perfect lasting memory from his fantastic decade at Tottenham Hotspur.

"Sonny has given so much to this Club, both on and off the pitch, and for that we are forever grateful. We wish him all the best for the future, and he will always be welcome back at the Club as a beloved and cherished member of our Spurs family."

Oh Ghod. Just when I thought the tears were over…..I’m in absolute pieces yet again.

I’ve seen many of what I would consider legends - whom I have loved - depart over the years.. But I don’t think I have ever felt the connection with any other player compared to how I feel about Sonny. Sure, the social media age plays a part But his love for Spurs feels so genuine, as does our love for him. He stuck with us when he could have gone elsewhere. He delivered a great prize to us. He loves us. And we love him.
Best of luck Sonny. And please come back soon to see us so we can give you a proper farewell.
❤️

I hope fans really keep up the love and place for him. Too much been played on being streaky, the shirt sales, his sexuality..........in my time never known a player have to fight so hard for affection.........

Personally he will be remember like a hero.........a 24 carrot hero

Thought we might see him at one of Burnley or Bournemouth but alas no, LA have games

⚽ MLS Regular Season

After the Leagues Cup, LAFC returned to MLS action with these three August fixtures (times in ET per ESPN):

No tears from me. I literally couldn't imagine a better way for a player to leave. Every other legend we've seen leave over the past 30 years has been bittersweet. An acceptance of our place in the food chain, a desire to win trophies, or in one specific case due to injuries.

But Sonny gave us so much and gets to leave like this. It's almost like it was worth the trophy drought just for him to have this moment to go out on.
