So, what happened today?

Job hunting is tiring me out !!!
Had 2 interviews today and got one at 5pm, along with 3 other calls to recruiters !!
The whole process is so frustrating too
Had a great interview last week only for the hiring company to then say were putting that role on hold for a few months now
Still got 8 weeks left at my old place though so still not panicking

Mark, onboarding can be painfully slow these days. Make sure you’ve got up to date id and all your certificates/testimonials/ references ready to go.

Me too. Applied for a job that was pretty much tailor made for me. The requirements were almost a carbon copy of my CV. I wrote about it here previously, and said that I probably wouldn't even be called for an interview. They had some very specific and unusual skills and certificates they were looking for, and I have them all.

Yes, you guessed it. I didn't even get an interview, and the snot baby they hired has none of the skills or certificates they required...
Only reason has to be that he's a little puppy, and they recon he's cheaper to employ, although I stated that I had no salary request and willing to discuss salary.
tinkled me right off!

Yesterday's 'today' - we went to the V&A to visit the Epic Iran exhibition. It has some amazing artefacts on display. We watched BBC4's Art of Persia during the week which gave a very good insight into the history of the country. Definitely on the priority list to visit, if travel ever becomes possible again!

Had a couple of drinks in the area (the Queens Arms off Queens Gate is a nice mews-sited pub), then headed back into the City.

Went into the Jamaica Wine House off Cornhill. For anyone who knows the pub, or even the City in general, you'd know what it should be like at 6pm on a Friday evening. There was a grand total of 4 customers in there! It's amazing how some of these places have managed to survive.

Dinner at Gauchos. And we sat at the bar first. Sitting at a bar, for the first time in 16 months, felt incredibly strange.

All in all it was a lovely day. It felt great to be out and about and actually doing something again.

Really want to see this!

On a sunny lunchtime/evening there are few better places to have an authentic city drink than the jam pot
As you say amazed how these places have survived

Well had an interesting day yesterday (does that still count for this thread?), was told in the morning that the people buying my house want to exchange mid Aug and then just 3hrs later was told that the one we are buying has just fallen through[emoji2357]

So had anyone got a spare room, I’m almost house trained and I don’t smell too much. [emoji1787]

Arrived in the Lake District this afternoon. It’s so lovely to be away, a total change of scene - even if the weather’s looking a bit ropey for much of the week.

Went to see live football for the first time in 659 days! GHod it was good!
My local team (4th tier) played the 1st round of the Norwegian Cup, and faced last years Norwegian champions, Bodø Glimt, who we might face in the Conference League.
My local team put up a good fight, especially considering it's the same 659 days since they last played a competitive game, and led 1-0 at the break!
Glimt piled on the pressure in the 2nd half, and got their equaliser midway through the 2nd half. Then they got massive help from the ref with a blatant offside goal given, and then a very very soft penalty, which incredibly also led to the 2nd yellow for our left back. They added another to make it 1-4, and should have made more goals, but for some brilliant goalkeeping by the 15 year old(!!!) Adam Håkonsen.
Good to see some live local football again, especially when my team performed so admirably against one of the best teams in the country, with young talents given a chance to play, and playing well! Loved every minute!
