I'll be frank: I get more frustrated with the left than the right because I expect more from them. I've voted Labour throughout my adult life, although if I'm honest it's been as much out of habit as conviction over the last few elections.
What frustrates me most is the attitude that some people on the left bring to debate. That's partly what prompted my post in the other thread—the one you gave a thumbs down to. Too often, it feels as though disagreement is treated as something to be dismissed rather than engaged with.
Ironically, I think Luton is one of the better debaters on here. Given his background and some of the posts directed at him, he'd probably have more reason than most to be combative, yet he generally isn't.
I'll probably collect a few more thumbs down for saying all this, but that's fine.
I think most topics are debated on here TBH, when its not its because the likes of Danish, SkipRat, BatRat and or McSilly all made fairly serious racial slurs and were shut down. I haven't seen too much more of it beyond that, although happy to be pointed in the direct it exists. I certainly haven't seen anything from the left that can be equivalenced to the racism on here.
As I said in an earlier post, I never saw many beyond maybe 2/3 posters jump on the racism on bigotry on here yet saw alot more "silent" posters who claimed lack of balance all come out of self imposed periods of lay off to complain. I find that really disingenuous
