I don't think this was ever happening. Always felt a really weird one that City would let him go so early in his career there....looks like they may have been interested in a ridiculous bid that they could then just siphon over to Real for Rodrygo but it doesn't look like we were ever prepared to the sort of figures that would have been necessary.

Unless City want 80 million & won't budge they don't need our money. We did the same to them with Kane pay what we want or fudge off

We desperately wanted (needed) to keep Kane. He was our best player and we’d just gone through the most farcical of farcical manager searches.

City are open to selling Savinho, with the manager actively stating that he thinks the squad is too big and the club wanting Rodrigo from Madrid. £70m is already significantly more than Savinho is worth and on;y about £8m shy of what Madrid want for Rodrigo (which are 2 more reasons why I don’t think we have bid anywhere close to that much, at least not heavily made up of sketchy add ons anyway).
