Savinho

Th thing that nags me: is he really worth twice the price of a Cherki for example?

Not really, but I reckon the club realizes it needs to sign someone the fans are going to get excited about to dampen the current mood, no matter what the cost. So Savinho, and hopefully a 10 ala Akliouche or however you spell it.

70m would be well over the price fornme....good job it's not my money.

JEEZ

Indeed...I think there's a '2025 inflation' portion to all this though i.e. 70 million is the new 45-50 and so on.
Whoever we squeeze through the door we will absolutely overpay now because our hand is clear to all sellers. FWIW I also cannot believe for one moment that Emirates Marketing Project are going to be especially 'friendly' with us after the Kane situation. In fact, I'd wager they will slap an extra 10-15 ontop just because of it!!!

Beause of the Kane situation??? They tried to lowball and never came in with a realistic offer. I doubt they're too bothered.

You could be right, I'm just saying that IMO, the failure to reach an agreement with them after a summer of trying will not see them inclined to give us any concessions.

Was my exact thoughts ! But maybe Steff didn’t mean it like that?

They wanted Kane, he thought he had an 'agreeement' (a la Issac with Newcash from what I can gather there), Daniel gave them a price eventually as I understand it and seemingly refused to engage in any further negotiations with player or club. He did nothing wrong at all, indeed, he protected our club and asset. HoweverCity did not stop trying, obviously felt they could get there, and did not. I am simply saying they would not have felt good about it. Add to this Daniel's approach to business; I am prepared to assume that he does not grease the wheels with social lubricant on a regular basis. None of this is a criticism more observations from outside.

Anyway, 'tis my opinion and that's all it is :)

I thought id read somewhere that the City and PSG chairmen are Levy's closest pals amongst his peers?

I don’t think the club care about the fans mood

Of course they do. They won't admit it, of course, but the club is nothing without the fans, and going into a new season with this level of toxicity (from what I've gathered online, anyway) won't be good for the team in any way. The media loves to feast on bad moods and it all spirals pretty quickly. I think they care a great deal about it.

Club can fill the seats every game without it’s hardcore fans
Online vibes are never ever what you see at a game
