If it's £50m we are, anything over we're not paying itAre we really in for Savinho? Or is his agent looking for a better contract?
Who knowsAre we really in for Savinho? Or is his agent looking for a better contract?
Hasn't Kudus started on the right?Only want him if he or Kudus is a decent 10. Wouldn't really want Kudus changing position after the start he's made on the left either, so only if he can play 10 basically.
Sorry yeah,, my mistake.Hasn't Kudus started on the right?

Or don't get a player the team needs and thus fail to achieve your goals and I stead stagnate.Pay over the top for an overrated player?
No goal posts being moved its my genuine opinion, i don’t rate him as a £70m. He cost £30m a year a go and has scored 1 goal.Or don't get a player the team needs and thus fail to achieve your goals and I stead stagnate.
I find the copium in our fan base incredibly refreshing. It doesn't matter happens always find a way to make it feel better.
If we sign a player he's amazing and if we don't we were never interested, he's not that good, we don't need him anyway, we'll find better, he was too expensive etc etc etc. the way these goal posts move is just something to behold
You know why he cost £30m though right? He was rated as £50m buy last year I know this because as I mentioned before he was someone I was paying a lot of attention to, but anywhere the team he came from (Girona) are part of the City group so he was transferred internally for a much cheaper price than he was otherwise rated at. City even had to get UEFA approval for the price as there was some debate about "market rates" when it comes to inter group transfers. No goal posts being moved its my genuine opinion, i don’t rate him as a £70m. Who knows
I do enjoy a good huff of copium but if we don't get Savinho or a similar player, I'll not be trying to kid myself.Or don't get a player the team needs and thus fail to achieve your goals and I stead stagnate.

I suspect that is euros not poundsApparently they want 67 million and we wont pay it. If thats true im dismayed. Just pay the money . The guy is a baller.
So because you have been watching him closely and you clearly have a hard on for signing him i am not allowed to have my own opinion? Sorry didn’t realise this, i will make sure i want to sign every player you do in future to keep you happy. You know why he cost £30m though right? He was basically never a £30m signing. Btw yes 1 goal but 10 assists (he is a winger after all) and lots of participation in the buildup then led to chances. Yes his finishing should have been better but all of that was on the wrong side. He's always played on the left and that why City brought him in but they then moved him to the right so it's not surprising his goal numbers dropped in an unsuited and new position for him. I suggest you actually watch the player than than making these half baked assesments.
The new one is - he has no sell on value. Like we as fans should give a brick about that. Levy's mentality has got so ingrained in the fan base that some cheer his penny pinching and ability to turn a profit.Or don't get a player the team needs and thus fail to achieve your goals and I stead stagnate.

Only going by the reports saying pounds, but who really knows. Would be a great signing i think.I suspect that is euros not pounds

You don't know when a player's peak is really. Look at Modric - you could have bought him at 30 and had 5 or more years of top performances out of him.It is objectively better for us as a club to spend £70m on a player that could be performing well with us for 4-5 years (and have a chance of reaching the top, top level), than spending £70m on a player who will be 29 in less than 2 years and past his peak.
When we only have the budget for X amount of players per year it’s not penny pinching to want to get a few years out of a £70m signing…
I’m happy this fell through, BUT only if we buy Savinho or someone of equal calibur and a #10
There is a sizable risk that the 4-5 years player won't reach the required standard which is why I prefer actuality as in the case of someone like Eze. We have more than enough potential in the squad and I'm excited by it. When you have three or four good potentials in the same position in a squad you start accumulating excess wages again and styming the growth of the players. The budget and the penny pinching are pretty much synonymous here and anyway those savings don't necessarily get reinvested in the squad. It is objectively better for us as a club to spend £70m on a player that could be performing well with us for 4-5 years (and have a chance of reaching the top, top level), than spending £70m on a player who will be 29 in less than 2 years and past his peak.
