It almost feels like Spurs are being punished now by their own fans for not concluding 4 deals very quickly. Obviously, Robbo was a Jan conversation whilst Senesi was speculated as always joining if we stayed up. We were probably reading about him in March. Then we sign PVH and that created a feel good factor. Add a sprinkling of Dubravka and suddenly we have 4 deals done by 25 June. It's never been known.

I reckon we'll be OK to do one other huge deal but won't be doing a second until we clear the decks. We need to see movement on a list of players that could include Vic, Dragu, Romero, Vuskovic?, Phillips, Sarr, Bergval, Devine, Donley, Solomon, Richi, Scarlett.

Like we've seen with Veliz, don't be surprised to see movement of players out of the club in these next 2-3 weeks. The biggest hint will be those names who don't get on the plane to Oz.

Punished? There’s a huge amount of good will and patience being shown to them this summer from what I read at least? The rumored sales of Vuskovic and Bergvall have even been greeted with understanding and blessing for the most part.

You know what I mean. Victims of their own success. We go a week without signing anyone and it's all woe betide me. We go 2 weeks and it's time to take the shoelaces out of some fan's shoes. GHod forbid, we go 3 weeks. There could be a THST riot.

Hmm ok, I’m not seeing that at all personally but clearly I’m not all seeing hah.

I'm not sure about that. Remember de Zerbi has never seen any of last seasons loanees or some of our injured players first hand. That's nearly 20 extra players he'll want to assess in pre-season

The issue is that people choose to flip flop on the basis like random brick
There is no quality filter in rumours so anyone can say anything
The issue is some opened believe everything …
And fans really don’t know what goes on behind the scenes
These are deals that have many many people involved and many many moving parts. It’s not like buying a pint of milk FFS

I'd say, in that case, we might as well just close every transfer rumours thread until the player has actually signed.

Spurs have dossiers on every player and Andy Scoudling has a key role in the process. RDZ is not naive enough to think that he has to be the sole assessor of every player. He will trust the bigger process and also the staff at Spurs who have watched these kids through their entire development cycles.

I know RDZ has a lot of credit in the bank with the fans, but we must remember he is also under scrutiny to prove his own credentials with his new club. We get to find out whether he can nurture these younger players into 1st teamers.
