Sandro - Beast

Good to see Sandro get another 90 minutes and to see him boss another game so completely. Villa didn't have a bad side, but their midfield were completely outclassed by Sandro and Paulinho.

I thought Sandro looked a bit tired towards the end of the game, more than usual from him I mean. Might just have been something I imagined, but it's easy to forget just how long he's been out for with the performances he's been putting in so far. Only natural for him to still be a little bit off his peak physical fitness.

I think AVB deserves some credit for the way he's brought Sandro back into the side, of course helped by the way our summer purchases has meant that we haven't been in a massive rush to bring him back in.

Hoping to see him start against Chelsea. Would be a great boost.

Sure I read in the paper today he's gonna be playing guitar and singing on some aggro santos track. Not sure if it's something to do with the world cup or not.
Sandro in a sombrero with comedy sunglasses playing guitar. Music industry finished, sandro wins.

Would he have had so many games it Capoue had not got injured, our midfield strength is amazing.

I find it interesting that people think Sandro is still working his way back to fitness. He is fully fit now, has been for a while.

People need to start getting used to the fact that the reason Sandro isn't starting in the Premiership isn't because he is being slowly reintroduced. It is because, unlike many fans views, he isn't regarded as an automatic first choice player at the moment. Dembele, Paulinho and Eriksen is our current preferred Premiership midfield it seems (although I wouldn't be shocked if Sandro comes in if we need to be more defensive) but one thing I love about AVB is that he does tend to stick with a winning team and I have little doubt that Sandro will win his place back in the side soon.

I think that's true, but I don't think that people need to get used to it, as - like you say - it's not because AVB doesn't see him as his long term first choice but precisely because he sticks with a winning team and while we're winning games there's no reason to drop one of those 3 in the league.

Equally I think that should Dembele or Paulinho, or to a lesser extent Eriksen, get injured then they'll have an incredibly hard time getting back in the team in front of Sandro because he's one of our best players.

His defensive prowess is obvious but he's also got great distribution, controls matches and is strong on the ball whether it's holding it up or driving forward.

I posted this before on the 1882 thread. Could we do this for Sandro?

"Sandro, Sandro Raniere", repeat as necessary.

Yeah? nah? daft?

I think the similar Swansea "Hymns And Arias ", sounds really good, then again we ain't Welsh!

I will be gutted if Sandro and Paulo do not start on Saturday

Gutted, realy? It's not like we have Parker in midfield, Dembele and Paulinho have been bossing it. I doubt Sandro will start but if he does it'll be alongside those two, not in place of one of them.
