Sandro - Beast

Re: Sandro - Legend

****fudgingbrickass. Really bad news. Just when we looked like we finally were moving towards an injury free squad, this happens...bloody hell.

Lets just hope his recovery goes well, and that he's 100% ready for pre-season. And lets hope it's not a complete ACL tear.

Re: Sandro - Legend

News which has really made me :( today.

Typical Spurs luck, the BEAST of a player who has in the eyes of many (including mine) been our best player so far this season, is struck down for the rest of it. Gutting news, best wishes to the BEAST and hope it isn't a tear & he recovers quickly. Can't wait till he's back already...

Oh well, over to you Scotty P, time for domination, baby, DOMINATION... as the Wu would say.

Re: Sandro - Legend

A huge blow. Parker needs to find his best form very quickly for us to cope with this. And we also need to bring in another central midfielder to give us cover/alternatives, whether that means bringing Holtby in early or someone else.

Sandro, unfortunately, seem to be very injury prone. He has been getting injured frequently since joining us. It is a worry when that happens to a player at such an early stage of his career. Let's just hope he can get back to his best and avoid more serious injuries in the future.

#thfc AVB on Sandro: "There are some postve signs that it might be 4 to 5 months but there are also cases where he could be out for 7 or 8"

Indeed. I have the same worries about Kaboul as well, I can't be arsed to check the stats but I don't think we've seen that many long runs of him playing week in week out without an injury

Re: Sandro - Legend

brick, wish him a speedy recovery. The annoying thing is he didn't need to attempt to control the ball in that awkward stance because he was under no pressure at the time.

I can see Dembele going under the knife in the summer as well if not before depending on how they can manage that hip.

IIRC he tried to loop it back over the defence while we had a high line, but the ball bounced high and he made a really awkward attempt to kick it. As you say, it was quite a pointless "action" to get injured - it wasn't a big tackle or a goalscoring lunge, just a mediocre attempt at a pass and bang, out for the season.

Re: Sandro - Legend

Michael Bridge @MichaelBridge_

Sandro has suffered a complete tear to his anterior cruciate ligament, yet still walked off the pitch against QPR. #THFC #BEAST

Re: Sandro - Legend

Well gutted by this news even though all the signs were pointing towards it being a bad one was still hoping it might turn out not too bad.

Get back soon " Beast ".

Last I heard on the subject, a month or so ago, Dembele's physio tweeted that the player was 100% fit. Any suggestion that his hip needs surgery is based on nothing more than mere conjecture and hearsay, I think.

Parker is already on very good form. Excellent when he came on against QPR. Also excellent while on the pitch against Coventry.

But Sandro has been excellent for 21 games straight.

I've said before that it could have just been down to Mbia but when Parker come on, Dembele looked poor against QPR. Not saying that he didn't look poor before that but it didn't really show signs of a promising partnership between the two. I hope I am wrong though.

Is it definitely the case that a partial tear is better than a complete tear?

Sometimes, I thought, a partial tear could lead to greater complications.

Dembele was poor from the very start of the QPR game. Just not his day. I think he might also have been playing well within himself after his booking.

Guess we'll see how he gels with Scottie on Sunday.

I hope they form a partnership even half as good as the one Sandro/Dembele formed throughout the season. It's a big ask of Parker at the weekend. Go out there and do Sandros job. He hasn't played many games this season but I am sure he is fully fit so it would be a great start for him to go out there and run himself into the ground for the team!!
