Get the feeling today's squad and changes show some kind of knife through butter that Ange was famous for at Celtic early on. Dier not being included, PEH not starting and Sarr going on before him, just feels like we probably know more about who is in his plans and not. Was reading about his Celtic time and the wording used was ruthless

It was the same at Brisbane Roar - he got rid of some of the older players immediately. Definitely part of how he works.

Worked for Poch
Works for ange
Previous coaches seemed to want older guys

Poch tried the older ones first

Ange has gone for it from day 1, I think he knows he requires a complete shift of mentality and the older (more comfortable?) player will be the issue.

The high energy/press game is a young man's game, I do find it interesting Perisic (everyone has always said is a model Pro) has found himself on the in.

I think it’s as much a mindset issue as it is a physical one. Far easier to mould the younger players than deal with the groans of the older players. That’s definitely how it was at Brisbane.

It completely depends on the individual....case by case basis.

Not to have a downer on Dier but there have been comments about his hold on the changing room and his personality influence, maybe, not saying for certain, but maybe its seen as too big an influence given that he is unlikely to back it up with apps. Same with PEH, I mean to some the chest thumping and pointing and shouting works, for others it might not

They are literally just the uninjured players who didn't make the bench yesterday. It still looks like Hojbjerg will be first out the door.

Yeah, Probably hinges on what we can extract from A.Madrid. sounds like they are being a bit cheeky with their valuation so far, although I would take any half decent offer at this point if it gives us time to help bring new players in

Tell him he’s not getting a squad number and then see if he still wants to remain at Spurs this season. Having watched us yesterday, I think Dier would be an even greater disaster in this formation than he was when being hid away in a back 3 last season.

Not sure we will go that drastic, but I'm pretty sure the message is you won't see playing time here (Ange dropping VDV in after 3 training sessions over the established players is a statement)

I agree, Dier's lack of pace combined with his often poor reading of game will leave him badly exposed in this system (VDV & Udogie's pace were notable yesterday)

Lloris, Dier, PEH & Kane out allows Ange to reshape the dressing room/character of team anyway he wants and I suspect it is a consideration
