Riyad Mahrez

According to several on here not really good enough for us, but good enough for City...

He's more than good enough on his day.

The question reasonable people would have is
- Can we afford 50M+ on a 29 year old player who can be inconsistent

No question City can, I'd argue with Moura we are making a play at a player almost 5 years younger, with a higher ceiling, for half the price and probably less wages.

He's actually 26, not 29, though turns 27 in 3 weeks' time.

The bigger question is whether we need Mahrez in addition to Dele, Eriksen, Son, Moura and Lamela.

Mahrez is a bit different to all of them; could we keep all 6 happy? I'm not sure we could, especially as we sometimes play with a back 3, so to me it feels like if Mahrez comes in, one has to go

We are signing moura so we are lead to believe ... we can't compete financially with city

Doubt he will play more then 10 games for them.

Shame because that Foden looked really good to me in the summer. I hope for the sake of his career he has not signed a contract with them.
He will play plenty of games for them, he easily has the quality. Even City would t be prepared to pay over 50 m for someone who will barely play. He is someone they can rotate without really dropping in quality....

You sure Mahrez is 29?

Oh so now it's about attackers?

Tell me where Mahrez plays in that team when all are fit.
Lol when all are fit? Please tell me a team competing for the quadruple who has all of their team fit all the time?:D He will be playing plenty of games....

He is the same level of quality as the current XI?

They are happy to pay that money for someone who "potentially" will feature, the difference between Spurs and City/United/Cheat$ki/Real/Barca is two fold

- We won't buy a 100M player.
- We won't pay a player hush money to be quiet on the bench, Mahrez will not complain getting 200K/week if he doesn't play.

Correction on my earlier post, he's 27 (in a few weeks)

He's not the same quality as Sane/KDB/Silva, my guess is he's brought in because they are getting rid of Sterling, Sane is injured for a while and they can afford it.
