I think he’s just called RDZ’s bluff about being 100% committed or not and it’s backfired on him.
As long as it’s a consistent message and treatment of all players the I don’t have a huge issue. But like everyone I wish we could have foreseen it and acted to bring in a replacement.

Question though.

How you be a 100% committed professional to your manager when you live your life out on social media in this way? Very subtly different from 100% committed on the pitch, but surely a massive factor.

My view is that we need to back RDZ over Richi as much as we did Poch with Kaboul.

There will be senior casualties. There will be guys when pushed to operate with the right levels of professionalism and commitment that don't complete the journey. I'm good with that. There will also be the great guys like Ryan Mason who serve a purpose for a while and then roll off the roster.

Richi's crime was disrespecting our club by playing his story out on social media and playing the victim. Based on this week he's still doing that by putting a tearful emoji and typing the word "Why". In my opinion, he needs to grow up and start being a professional. He's not helping the reputation of any highly paid professional footballers by acting like a spoilt little child. Fortunately, they aren't all like him.

Backing the manager is fine, making a public spectacle about it is not, not giving a number has a direct financial consequence to the club, and fudges us out of a plan C (what happens if Solanke and Marmoush get injured?) for no upside other than "sending a message"

Could have given him a number, not played him (other players will get the message, doesn't need to be public) and moved him on in January for some revenue. At this point we are either going to accept something like sub 10M or give him away when 35M was on the table .. it's a fudge up

Include him or don't include him it doesn't make any difference. If he had played yesterday the same complaints that are always made about him would be made. He can't hold the ball up, his first touch is rotten, he can't bring others into play. I don't know why we are lying to ourselves. When Richy is fit and available people cry for Solanke, when Solanke is the one playing peopek harp on for Richy. Whichever of them isn't actually available is always seen as the better option.

Fair points but he is at least an option. Not necessarily a good one, but an option nonetheless. You know my opinion of him is similar to yours.
