Did hear on the fighting com podcast that arsenal are currently scoring 20% of their shots were as the league norm is 9%... that’s a hell of an uplift

Yup. We take it for granted that we will hit form at a certain point, but that may not necessarily be the case. Last year we limped over the finish line. The year before we raced past it. Every year is different.

Exactly this! It's like people think things are always static in football; a bit like when Arsenal fans thought we could NEVER finish in the top 4 and then could NEVER finish above them. Football, as in life, can be effected by things you do to effect your outcome. Fail to plan, you plan to fail as the saying goes...

Lucky run that cannot continue. I think they've flattered to deceive under Emery, it'll all come crashing down.
You have to admit though, they have scored some beautifully crafted goals. That being said, though, they have been significantly outperforming their xG. Then again, so have we. Below table is sorted by xPts

Of all our defeats so far this season (Liverpool, Watford, ManCity, Inter and Barcelona), Watford is the most unacceptable result. We can somewhat accept the other defeats as they are big teams who have much better squad than us and we still made them work hard and came close to get something out of those games. In contrast, losing to mid table teams like Watford is unacceptable and it will come back to affect us later in the season.

So, Liverpool where 3 points ahead of us at this stage last season, and we finished 2 ahead of them. They're 6 ahead now....

Last season they reached the CL Final and their league form dropped as they rotated players. Will be interesting to see if they can maintain their early season form this year, but here’s hoping we can overtake them again this season.

The next 9 games will be interesting - arguably Liverpoo have a tougher run than us - and I cant see them keeping up this run they’re on.

Also, over the last 3 or 4 seasons we HAVE been competing, we now have the experience. OK, we haven’t got
Over the line but I do believe if
We can get to the top with 8 to 10 games left, we will have the mental strength to go all the way.

The media piranhas will have something to say about that.

Surprised me a bit that Cheatski are still only 1 point behind us, considering people said our points tally would usually be extremely good.
They haven't been scoring well or winning by decent margins, but they are amassing points.

Since we beat them they have scraped a lot of wins by 1 goal, and lost to Wolves, Leicester, drew with Soton. Standout result was beating MNC.

TOT 3 1 CHE L
CHE 2 0 FUL Won by two goals
WOL 2 1 CHE L
CHE 2 0 MNC Won by two goals
BHA 1 2 CHE Won by one goal
CHE 0 1 LEI L
WAT 1 2 CHE Won by one goal
PAL 0 1 CHE Won by one goal
CHE 0 0 SOT D
CHE 2 1 NEW Won by one goal
= 31 points from 10 games

For comparison, we have:
TOT 3 1 CHE L
ARS 4 2 TOT L
TOT 3 1 SOT Won by two goals
LEI 0 2 TOT Won by two goals
TOT 1 0 BUR Won by one goal
EVE 2 6 TOT Won by four goals
TOT 5 0 BOU Won by five goals
TOT 1 3 WOL L
CAR 0 3 TOT Won by three goals
= 33 points from 9 games, with today's game to come

1 to 2 bad results against unexpected teams are "normal", everyone has them

I'd argue Spurs form over the last 3-4 years against bottom 12 or so teams is consistently very good. Our problem (what leaves us as bridesmaid not bride) is consistently not being a threat to other top 6 sides (we have gone from no results, to occasional, but Pool, City, Scum and United in PL this year?)

I'd accept it if we were outplayed in each of those games by pure quality of squad, but we weren't (perhaps City did), but look at the Inter, United & Barca (away) games, we should have won each of those reasonably comfortably on run of play.
