Harry had a lot of flaws but he built a very good side, one that was full of character and was great to watch. The current side is dire in comparison and Bale masked what was/is a very mediocre outfit.

None of that matters to people , which i can appreciate if you dont like the man. but the way they dress it up...LOL

had to vote redknapp, purely in a football sense, as its the only time we have been in CL and I did enjoy the way we played under him attack - attack attack

no we dont, unless all you are saying is that redknapp didnt make full use of the squad.

good to know though that AVB is just as bad as harry is, maybe even worse...AVB flogs dead horses into annihilation.

I take it back, yes , we agree on all the above

???

Staying largely clear of this thread other than lurking, but I did find this comment one I genuinely couldn't understand...

Talking to yourself again, put the mirror down and have a quick nap.:)

its funny, but myself seems to have powers to type as someone else from another location. You are right though, myself has no real imagination or opinion...it all makes sense now why my alter ego ..aka parklane1 doesnt actually say anything outside of riding other people's opinions. this is amazing:lol: .

Yawn.

Jol was my favourite by far.

I like AVB a lot - he's a thinker and there's not enough of them in English football.

Redknapp? Well, he wasn't George Graham I suppose. And he wrote me a nice letter when I got married.

Too soon to vote as AVB has only had 1 season. Loved BMJ and the football was always a bit of an adrenalin rush, bad defence and great strikers meant we always tried to outscore the opposition, some great high-scoring games.
Some seriously sshheexyy football was played whilst Harry was manager, at times exhilarating and the sort of football I would associate with Spurs. Fantastic Cl nights that i will always remember but his yacking to the media irritated me.
I'm interested in what AVB is trying to do and what he will go onto achieve. Last season we seemed to develop a more professional and determined side but at times the football could be pretty dull. Perhaps once AVB has his players and style sorted we will be slightly more exciting to watch.
They all had good and bad points and maybe after another season or 2 things might be clearer.

Yep, the post that mostly says it for me. African, generally one of the most sensible posters on here, I disagree with you that harry was not backed by Levy (except the last January), when he signed Palacios, Defoe, Keane Crouch, VDV, Friedel, Parker, and Kaboul back for him. I accept he did well in his seasons at the club but there is a niggling feeling that had he been more tactically astute especially in the big games we would have done even better. That is 4-5-4 could have been 4-4-3. Jol, I loved and we as a club owe him thanks for making us respected again. But as other posters have said I believe he had taken us as far as he could. Ramos who for some reason most Spurs fans want to airbrush out of our history gave us the wonderful 2008 CC run which I will always be thankful for, imo had the pedigree to be the best but just did not work out for him. Pellegrini reminds me a lot of Ramos wonder how that will turn out. As for AVB, well the 3 managers before him among other things tell us that things can go wrong for Spurs very quickly. I will wait and see but I like what he is doing so far. He made mistakes in his first season but then who doesn't hope we give him a chance.

I would say AVB has been my favourite but Redknapp was the best (can't really judge AVB yet).

Jol-
Good points: Back to back 5th place finishes. Likeable guy. Good rapport with the fans. Restored respectability to the club.
Bad Points: Capitulations against scum. Blew numerous leads in 05/06 season. Negative substitutions.

Redknapp-
Good points: Got us out of trouble with ease despite a horror start to the season. Two 4th place finishes. Finally getting always let you down Spurs to the Champions League. Our incredible Champions League form. Fantastic football to watch. The odd amusing/hilarious interview. Finally beating scum in a league game. Our away form.
Bad points: Collapse in 11/12 season. Baffling tactics at times. Contradicting statements regarding his future/contract. Performances in FA Cup semi finals.

AVB-
Good points: Solid 5th place finish. Moving Bale to the centre. Decent guy. Excellent first season despite no decent strikers and little help in the January window. Good man management regarding Lloris/Friedel situation. Best away form I've seen from a Spurs side.
Bad points: His irritating voice. Negative tactics at start of last season. Questionable preference of certain players over better, more experienced players. Letting Caulker go. Letting Arsenal catch us after having a 7 point lead.

You mean his secretary did? I thought he wrote like a 2 year old?

11 votes in the poll so far and yet not one for Redknapp?, strange seeing as there are those who are kissing his arse :)

Obviously the final season has left a bitter taste in our mouths, compounded by Chelsea's absolute fluke of winning the CL.

Me and you butted heads when it comes to Redknapp numerous times, but he brought a lot of joy to our fans, had us playing some brilliant football and he raised the profile of the club, that can't be disputed.

People say Jol had an inferior squad, but he had Berbatov and Keane in their primes for two seasons whilst Redknapp had to make do with Adebayor and Defoe. The only thing that stopped us challenging for a title in 11/12 and last season too was a top drawer striker.

An on form Ade is a top drawer striker.

jol. Great guy, players loved him. Was gutted when he was sacked as I dont think he deserved it. I still really like the man.

Redknapp. Best recent football, played great on him. But damn! the man could not keep his mouth shut. And tactically did not seem to have a plan B. He still talks too much about our playerd even after he left.

AVB. Its too soon to judge him. I like his professionalism. I like that he is a forward thinking manager and has gained us our best points finish in recent years, but unfortunately not our highest finish. Im hoping he will be here for a long time and become a ledge.
