Ratings vs Liverpool

Lloris 5 Thought he would have dealt better with the back pass.
Walker 3 He has to go!!!!!!!!!!!
Vertonghen 8 Tremendous.
Dawson 6 I thought he got in some good tackles.
Benny 5 A bit too casual at times. didnt do much re his passing.
Demble 5 Lazy. Kept running into trouble, why wont he lay the ball off?
Livermore 4 See Walker.

Siggurdson 5 Could not kep hold of the ball and missed a sitter.
Bale 6 Rodgers instructed his side well and he was contained for the most part. I would have shifted Demble inside and put him out wide again for the last twenty minutes.
Defoe 5 Received no service at all, apart from high balls hoofed from the back. What do people expect?

I meant Holtby on the right, Dembele in the middle.

Perhaps you are right. I just think Livermore didn't play well today.
 
jan and dembele were great, the rest were average except defoe and livermore who were absolute dogbrick
 
Lloris 5- Stupid stupid pass from Walker but if he's going to come out and try to claim it, he needs to make sure he gets there.

Walker 4- Regardless of how else he played, his mistake cost us the game. 2-1, we're comfortable, passing it around well, Liverpool look a bit deflated and the tired legs that would set in later on wouldn't have been as much of an issue. Such a stupid stupid mistake to make. Annoying because otherwise he was good. But in the end, the rest is pointless when your mistake effectively lost us the game.
Dawson 6- Decent.
Vertonghen 8.5- Outstanding.
Ekotto 5. Needed more of an attacking contribution from him. Stupid challenge.

Dembele 7.5. Good in the first half, not as obvious in the second. Should have been in the middle.
Livermore 5. Barely noticed him tbh
Parker 6. Release the ball quicker please.
Sigurdsson 6. Hit the post. A couple of good runs. Should have scored early on.

Bale 7. 2 great assists. 1 great run. Otherwise relatively quiet.

Defoe 5. Pretty anonymous up front (though a lot of it down to poor service). Blasted it when he did get it. And then came back to 'help out' and made another stupid individual mistake.
 
Bale wasn't poor/average/anonymous. He should've had 4 "assists" to his name. Think it's unfair to mark him down because of the high standards he's set, he was still better than everyone else bar the Belgians.
 
Didnt think Dembele did anything of note today. Was he involved in one worthwhile move? He flatters to deceive. And I'm sick of the constant mazy runs that go nowhere.
 
Lloris- 5.5. I really only fault him for the first goal, where he could and should have covered his near post better. The second was down to Walker putting him in an impossible situation, and the third was a penalty.

Walker - 2.5. Terrible. This is his 'learning' season, much like Bale had a bit of a nightmare in the league after his breakout in 09-10, getting double-teamed and put out of games too often. Only Walker's a defender, so we tend to concede as a result of his errors, whereas when Bale failed to click we were only 'ineffective'.
Dawson - 5.5. Struggled against the pace of Sturridge and Suarez.
Verts - 9. Phenomenal. He must be furious he ended up on the losing side through no fault of his own.
BAE - 5. Casual, and it cost us. Also, don't chew on a toothpick on the pitch, mate - one head collision and you'll need it removed from your sternum.

Parker - 5.5. A little jaded, and it showed.
Livermore - 5.5. Struggled against the quick passing interplay of Liverpool's midfield.
Bale - 6.5. Good assist, tried to make things happen, but was diligently marshalled by Lucas and Agger.
Dembele - 6.5. Tried hard, and showed some great bits of skill. Nothing wrong with him.
Sigurdsson - 6. What is it with him and the post?
Defoe - 5. Anonymous.

Subs;

Holtby - N/A. Would he have done better against Liverpool's hard-pressing? Maybe, but given AVB's meritocracy, it isn't hard to understand why Sig started.

AVB - 6. Couldn't have done much more.
 
Omg talk about knee jerking. I thought we'd lose this we haven't lost in agggggess and id even kind of forgotten what it feels like! Had to happen sooner or later and 2 be honest for the most part we dominated one of the form teams in the league at their own gaff. AVB had to make do with an injury hit squad, Defoe wasn't fit and Lennon being absent affected our balance. At the end of the day horrendous individual mistakes cost us and similarly to our last trip to mersetside I'm filled more with a sense of oh well these things happen rather than a sense of upset- onto the next game lets get the job done against inter and beat Fulham ! COYS!
 
Lloris - 5 - Beaten at near post and perhaps could've done better with 2nd.
Walker - 4 - Brain fart cost us 3pts.
Dawson - 6 - Decent.
Vertonghen - 8.5 - Commanding performance plus a brace of goals which should've won us the game.
Ekotto - 5 - Poor.
Dembele - 8 - Classy.
Livermore - 5 - Works hard but invariably looks out of his depth against top opposition.
Parker - 7 - Looking back to his best.
Sigurdsson - 6 - Should've scored or set-up Defoe to make it 3-1.
Bale - 7 - Fairly subdued by his recent standards but still got 2 assists.
Defoe - 4 - Anonymous until he dropped clanger which lead to their penalty.

We dominated the game and should have won comfortably but 2 silly mistakes cost us the game.

Need to rate over the whole game rather than the last 15 minutes.
 
Lloris - 5 Just clear the fudging ball!

Walker - 6 Good game, but massive fudge-up on the back pass
Dawson - 7 Solid
Vertonghen - 8,5 Solid, two well taken goals
Benny - 6,5 Decent

Parker - 5 Pass the ball forward ffs, becoming a hindrance to our attacking play, sick of the endless pirouettes
Livermore - 5,5 Looked off the pace

Dembélé - 8 Good, should have played in the middle
Bale - 7 Didn't do much, should have got the ball from Parker more
Gylfi - 6,5 Decent, unlucky not to score

Defoe - 2 Absolutely horrible, gave them the winner, bad shooting, bad decisions, needs to find form

Well, a number of players made massive **** ups that cost us the game, hence the low ratings. I think Verts, Dembele and Dawson were excellent, the rest were good at times but horrific unfortunately in key moments.

I only see Defoe, Walker, Lloris and Livermore being given low ratings. Walker cost us the game, Lloris was at fault for the first, and Defoe's flick led to the third (plus his general anonymity). Livermore's the only one I think is being given undeservedly low ratings.
 
why is lloris getting horrendous marks

why are most of the team getting bad marks for that matter

we were the better team on the day

AVB - 4. He is clearly not the tactical mastermind so many people here are making him out to be. Doesn't take a genious to play dembele in the middle. And Livermore is beyond useless.
