Didn’t he do thousands of calls during the pandemic? As someone who hates chatting on the phone to anyone, I am in awe of him for that. Incredible stuff. I know you shouldn’t place too much stock in famous people as role models but if Mabbutt was to be anything other than I believe him to be, humanity is heading for hell in a hand basket. He’s an absolute credit to our club.

Didn’t he also do something similar for Marine fans when we played them? As you say, an absolute credit to the club and it’s things like this that justify (wrong word but I can’t think of the right one now) legend status.
