Dier steady but I'm not convinced he is the answer in there. Still though I've only seen 45mins so you never know.
 
A high quality game. Some skillful players. Who was that playing down the wing and beating our two players at left back? Sublime touches and pace to get free.
 
Off to bed now, but it was an entertaining enough first half. High points - Kane, Dembele and Davies. Vertonghen not having his best game. Silly handball from Chadli but otherwise he's been decent enough.
 
GHod we're as awful as ever with the same mistakes and same pattern :)

Bentaleb and Dier have been absolutely woeful, confirms that however good Bentaleb can be and hopefully will be, he's young, and is going to have many off games. Dier, again young, out of position, he could develop into that position, but I've been saying it since last season, but our central ,midfield is painfully week!!!

Dembele has been good, Chadli ineffective like he was a lot, but the guy can score. All tippy happy outside the box... no one really running at defenders... Same old same old...
 
Our midfield looks pony. So disorganised it's untrue. Dier looks out of place in there although I like the way we started trying to play from the back with him dropping in between Verts and Toby.
The two commentators are doing my head as well, because whilst a couple of those saves were decent the big one Kane put right at him.

Anyways the lads looks shattered, but without some real signings I fear for us.

(Yeah yeah I know, pre-season, MLS allstars are sharper and fitter atm, but we still look short of quality in a couple of spots).

At this point in the season they should be playing much better and dominate against oppo.... wait, it's the first real pre-season game and we're playing at altitude. Maybe that's one reason for the performance this half.
