Pre Season Thread

I enjoyed it as much as you can at that time of morning, just woke up now after going back to sleep.
Weather looked horrible and must have been a change for the players after the last few weeks.
Very noticeable we started to move the ball quicker and that the wide players attacked on the outside at last. Nice to see players turning and driving forward rather than the dreary stuff of ball retention we've seen last year.
Good work out for players involved and satisfying performance from all.
I thought it might have been a bit harder game but it hard to judge knowing so little of their team, encouraging from some of the new faces and youngsters, I felt Davies helped the inexperienced team very well, hope he is used as an overage player in U21s this season.

Regarding Solomon with Deki having been out for over a year, there is a huge question mark over his availability, so we actually have no depth on the RW. If RDZ worked with Solomon at Shaktar, I’m wondering if he sees him as an option, at least until January, by which point Odobert should be starting to come back into the mix, and the Deki situation should be a lot more clear.

Odds are he will be sold or released on loan. But we should be making some signings the attacking areas and maybe RDZ would be happy with him as cover for the next 6-12 months whilst Odobert/Kulu/Simons are recovering if he is showing good form in pre season.

But we have this every pre season, whether it be young players or some fringe squad players who look decent and people suggest they should stay on and be used and they almost always leave :D....

Anyone know if there is a full replay of the game available, looked on Spurs Play and it continues to live up to the hype as being totally crap, maybe I’m missing something?

Agree with most of that, but we seem to be linked with LW, and RDZ has said he wants two attacking signings, so for me the second has to surely be a striker. Kudus has the starting RW spot tied down, so Solomon does kind of make sense to keep around, but conversely, like you say, could also be as simple as putting him in the shop window throughout pre season.

He's just getting minutes to be moved on.

I can't imagine the player or the club will want him to stay

Maybe...it seems incongruous that he would remain, yet if it is a clean slate start and these early ops are to see if he has a future, then he is doing enough to show he could be a really decent squad player.

Pop his name in social media and see what our fans are saying about him.

The club won't want to risk it.

Yea, I haven’t seen much of him generally, but he always looked pretty lively when I have watched him. Think he offers something different in that he actually likes to cut in and shoot, something we have seemed a bit allergic to the last couple of seasons. Not saying he’d be a starter or anything but a decent option off the bench if needing something.

Look, I think it’s highly likely he’s sold, but I’d be happy enough if he stays around until the injuries clear up at least.

I don’t want to comment on Solomon’s performance as I haven’t watched anything yet as I’m waiting for the full replay, but for what it’s worth FotMob have him as the MotM.
