Pre Season 2017

I was there, it was hot and humid. Very impressed by the Spurs support from across the USA and beyond. My overall impression of the game was that whilst CCV, Walker Peters and Onomah have talent they are not ready for this level quite yet. N'koudo seems way off the pace and poor old Victor Jaansen simply looks out of his depth. Still, a decent win and an entertaining game for the most part

Out of the three 'younger' lads I personally thought KWP was the closer to stepping up. I was watching on TV.
I would like to see him given a similar loan to Rose got at Sunderland. I think KWP has got 'what it takes' to go further.

Agree with the rest

I agree regarding KWP although he was badly out of position for their second goal. That said, he was playing against on of Europe's top sides. He'll need plenty of playing time in the League cup etc, but I do feel we have a real prospect on our hands.

All that matters in these games is fitness and form.... if the players come out of every game that it fitter and match ready for Poocastle then that's enough

This for me has well, i rarely go to any pre season games as it does not prove anything much. The main thing is getting the players up to match fitness again.

Many years since I stopped getting excited about pre season wins, and this is no exception. Nice win and a good run out against quality opposition though. Good to get going again, and of course this won't be harmful to either fitness nor confidence. A few great goals too.

Can anyone comment on how Tashan Oakley-Boothe got on?

Didn't notice him at all. Not sure if his name was mentioned even once in the broadcast.
There's an article in the Daily Mail with him as the headline being our first milenium born player and that apparently he showed some promise....
The History Boy

Tashan Oakley-Boothe became the first ever Millennium baby to ever play for Tottenham.

Born on February 14, 2000, Oakley-Boothe has risen through the ranks at Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino has high hopes for him.

That he has come on tour is a big statement by the manager and there were glimpses in the second half to show Spurs might have a real player on their hands.

Another one to watch then by the sound of it. :)

While I agree with the general view that pre-seasons are reasonably meaningless (yes, obligatory Roma 5-0 reference), Poch's team play such a system game, it can be a good indicator of how close the side are to the system. My one genuine complaint re Poch with us is in previous years it took the team a couple of months (if not all the way to December) to start being that machine.

what was interesting against PSG is it looked a lot like end of last season (with the mix of non regulars)
- The possession game and passing from back was there
- The press was on and led to Dier's goal, red card and several other opportunities
- Player fitness looked decent (Eriksen, wtf did this guy do for his holidays?)
- Desire to score and keep pushing for more (something that really started later last season).

Was also entertaining to watch, nice change from a lot of these traditional preseason games. Worth noting our preseason really is against quality teams - PSG, Roma, City, Juve

He was out of position because we stupidly lost the ball on the other side of the pitch and they countered quickly, before he had a chance to get back.

I'm sure that you are correct, It all seemed to happen so quickly, I haven't seen a replay

Not sure how the fitness training works with Spurs at all, but do you think that they measure how fit someone is pre-season and compare it to a year ago and then try and improve on it each year? We were so fit last year and I think this is a huge part of why we won so many games and scored some late goals as well. I hope they do as if the players can be even fitter than last year then it should be a good season (even though I have put 8th due to Wembley!).
