To what level would you want to though? I've had robust conversation in the UAE, QATAR and other states and felt safe doing so, if you are talking being provocative online or in the press about religion then I would say there are many places in the world where you might find yourself in hot water speaking out about the national religion

I would also hazard a guess that no religion has been as persecuted and had hunans killed in the modern age than Muslims. Having traveled a fair part of the world I can tell you from experience that not all Muslims are like those painted by Tiny Tommy

Just referring to your last point. I in no way disagree with Muslims from various parts of the world not following the Quran to that level. I’ve been to Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan, India, UAE, Afghanistan. My point is one is the law and the other is the exception. I would argue that some of the places that you have mentioned are more civilised than places like Bradford, Luton, Newham in that respect.

Revolut are one of the biggest private companies around though (plus they have a semi banking license so can guarantee deposits like any other bank and will benefit from the full government guarantee scheme once approved) and much bigger players are getting involved e.g. JP Morgan lets you use ETH or Bitcoin as collateral for loans now. Also isn't the point to identify small industries with the potential to grow and get in early and reap the dividends. It may or may not take off but if it does the UK won't be way behind.

True but you never know the full extent until years after but right now it's hard to believe that all politicians aren't the same. We've had the Lord Alli donations, China spy case, Siddiq links etc and I'm sure lots of other stories will come out.

Jeez. I seldom use social media, this forum is my main source of it (if you can call this SM). And the only time I realise the world is fudged up is when i read these sort of threads because I tend to stick to my own little bubble of family and friends where everyone and everything seems so normal and it's relative bliss....

I think most people are normal, however social media is like them stepping through the looking glass.
It temporarily distorts them, it's not reality and other than the truly sad cases who are trapped in it most are not bad people.

Remember those tv channels arent commercially viable (no ad revenue because of their tiny viewer numbers). They are paid for by individuals to create news stories and 'normalise' extreme views. Although i suppose you could say the same about newspapers now too.

They don't need to be FSCS covered because they are not a bank in the UK. But they are an e-money institution.

The fundamental difference between a bank and an e-money institution is that when you place a deposit with a bank, the bank can do what it wants with that money. Whereas an e-money institution has to ring-fence the funds either deposited with a custodian bank, or covered by a reserve provided by an insurance company. Either way any money deposited with Revolut in the UK is protected. They are a licensed bank in Lithuania and they have passported banking permissions in Ireland.
